It's not listed on their product list. I can't find anything that connects SPA and dimps. (box cover, instructions, credits...I'm sure you checked all this already)

Edit: though the credits list Takashi Nishiyama, the founding CEO of dimps according to their website. That's the only thing I can find.

It was only ever said that the team that made SPA went on to form Dimps, so that all checks out even if it was just one guy from the team.

Wasn't it the Sonic 3 manual that said that Eggman devised ingenious traps that would get Sonic if he went too fast? Guess that mechanic was implemented long before Sonic 3 :v:

Nevermind, it's finished. Despite my best efforts, some lucky bastard got there first.

I've seen the PAL Game Gear version go for just as much on Ebay, oddly enough. Once Tails Adventure PAL went for £100+. Some bidders on ebay are nuts.

yeah, and the saddest part of it is when the overprice becomes a standard. I've been ages looking for a decent priced Panzer dragoon on Sega Saturn ( the first one, I know SAGA is naturally at a high price), but cant find one because some genius decided that all panzer dragoon games should be at the same price range as Saga. I managed to buy zwei around 4 years ago, when it wasn't overpriced yet, for around 30 €, and the first one was around the same price. Skipped the first one because I had bought too much that month, and when I went to buy it again, about two years ago, it was priced around 140 €, all sellers, and it hasn't come down yet.. It sucks that because someone managed to sell one at that price, al sellers now try to sell it at the same price.

    Life.
Here's an amusing little tidbit I just found.

I was bored and decided to see what to make of this DiC-produced Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad, when I got hung up on this bit of background music.

It seemed far too familiar to me. Sure enough, I tracked it down in one of the episodes of AoStH I had on VHS as a kid.

When I tweeted this my Twitter blew up (well, 7 retweets is a lot for me, anyway) so I thought I'd post it here, too, in case I wasn't the only one who hadn't seen it.

Hell, I might for the heck of it haha.

They have some games on their website if you click the cow near the bottom left. Is the music for those from anything?

Only one of them loaded for me. It was some terrible DDR styled thing, and I didn't recognise the music. But there is an innocent Mario '?' block knock-off on the menu.

As a child of the 80's I don't ever remember looking or acting so lame.

Nice post though, I've never seen that video before.

Is the beat just a generic rap thing... or was this actually used from TJ&E's sound banks?

I noticed something when spriting Classic Amy yesterday. I was looking at this and I'd never noticed the ribbon goes all the way around. I also noticed she has the same amount of spines as modern Amy; I assumed she had the same amount as Sonic. This is gonna sound rather 'fanon' but if Classic Amy were to undo her ribbon, would her spines fall down into place like Modern Amys? What if she tied them up with the ribbon originally to be more like/impress Sonic? It's be neat to think Sega actually considered this when designing her. Just a bit of nonsence food for thought their for you. :v:

Can't say I had noticed before, either... But, in any case, wouldn't it be there to prevent her spikes from going upwards?
I don't think it's really supposed to change the way her spikes look, anyway, as it would be way too small for that...

In regards to that pic, I was about to ask about that "SEGA/GE1/Artworks" at the bottom right corner, and then I found out that I already asked the exact same thing in 2009. =O

So call me stubborn, but has anybody found out about that yet? Did SEGA hire an external studio for these vectorised character sheets, before the re-launch of Classic merchandise that took part in the not-so-distant past?

Kaz talks about her design in this video, explicitly mentioning the number of the spikes:

    http://youtu.be/JEZkrXaBkl0?t=1m32s

Interestingly, in the picture shown there, it's clearly a headband, not a ribbon that goes all the way around. I think whoever made the colour picture goofed.
