I do feel sorry for the people who bought the Wii version unt only the Wii version. Also, new level looks all right.
It's highly amusing to see Ken emphatically talking about how important fan feedback was and how they responded to the request for a playable Metal Sonic. How many requests were there for Metal Sonic DLC exactly? compared to say Classic Sonic? I'd say about 2 for every 100 requests. Anyway, bollocks! Have Big DLC if you want, still not buying this shite.
I think the requests were more for lock-on-style technology, not for Metal Sonic in particular. While not perfect, this is at least an intellectual curiousity.
I wanna hear the entire soundtrack before making comments. I can't understand why Rusty Ruin sounded more ruin-like.
We're being rewarded for buying both Episode I and Episode II by playing as Metal Sonic which is a much more significant change than say Classic Sonic and his black eyes. Are people complaining about this? Feel free to play Sonic Generations if you wanna play as Classic Sonic, they're doing something new in a 2D Sonic game this time.
You can find more screenshots at cute fluffy kittens, but I just wanted to show this one off for a couple of reasons Episode Metal. Why is this picture significant? He's rolling off a ledge and NOT uncurling. He also has the Ep 2 hud instead of the Ep 1 hud. What does this prove? This game likely is using Ep 2's physics, which means that all of Ep 1 is probably in Ep 2.
They should offer those with only the Wii version at LEAST a discount for having to purchase it on another piece of hardware. We were given no warning that were were to get only ONE part of a multi-episodic game. No way in hell am I buying a PS3 or 360 just to play a damn 2D game. It's a blatant lie to say that everyone who purchased Ep1 gets Ep Metal for free when they buy Ep2. There needs to be some concession here. I don't know whether or not my computer or phone can run this and I find it pointless to buy a PC controller for just one game. I'm going to be sore over this for awhile. I'm not against Sonic being a platform slut, but this is worse than the Sonic N occurrence for the Nokia Taco (N-Gage) and Game.com's Sonic Jam. There were no promises of more after those games.
What gets me is that some people go on about really wanting lock on technology for a modern Sonic game but fail to realise that it's basically DLC. I get the impression that some people are more in love with the sentence than the actual results.
Seconded. It would be quite a failure on SEGA's part if people who bought it for the Wii didn't get some sort of great deal or something, at least. I will not buy Episode 1 again on another platform for anything more than $5. The question to be asked though, is how will they confirm that we purchased it on the Wii? Perhaps a passcode or something could be downloadable from the Wii Shop Channel if you bought it already.
Are we sure that "Episode Metal" isn't restricted to only the four "new" stages, which I assume would be 4 new acts suited to any of Metal Sonic's differences(such as Ep 2's physics tweaks) rather than just "play episode 1 with a new skin!"? To be honest it would be pretty nice if they let you play the whole first game as Metal Sonic with the apparent physics changes, though.
Lol He really made the best tracks of 3D Blast! HAHAHA Anyway, I still like Jun a lot, all his work on Generations was specially awesome!
Green Hill Zone Marble zone Spring Yard Zone Star Light Zone Emerald Hill Zone Chemical Plant Zone Casino Night Zone Hill Top Zone Oil Ocean Zone Wing Fortress Zone Carnival Night Zone Ice Cap Zone Mushroom Hill Zone Hidden Palace Zone Sky Sanctuary Zone Emerald Coast Windy Valley Ice Cap again Red Mountain And that's just from the original trilogy and Sonic Adventure. Do I need to go on. Point is, it's a Sonic game. Unoriginal names are expected. As for the Episode Metal thing, I feel like that'd be really cheap to say 4 new levels and refer to old levels. They already said they were new zones when Ep 1 came out even though they were just recreations of older zones, and I don't think they'd be as shameful as to say playing Ep 1 as Metal Sonic makes Ep 1 levels "new." I think we get to play as Metal all through Ep 1, and the new level is either Stardust Speedway with 4 acts or replacement boss acts. They do like to refer to new acts as new levels so it's not impossible to make that claim. I'm guessing Stardust Speedway is the first level in the game for Episode Metal. You run through three acts and then you race Sonic for the boss. Regardless you end up losing, Eggman revives you, and you run off to play Ep 1's levels. So who's hoping the final goody that's left to be revealed on the Japanese website is Classic mode. PLEASE BE CLASSIC MODE.
The title "Oil Desert" implies that the level is in a location that is void of oil....wait a second... (Well, this isn't entirely true, but a name such as: "Crude Wasteland" would sound better, and I don't think it's that great of a replacement.)

Sinking Castle Zone Carnival Frost Zone Slick Sands Zone It's really not hard to come up with something with a bit more punch than what Sega's giving us for level names. Not hard at all. Why are they going for the boring, uninspired option on something that takes literally zero effort?
