Yes. It's near the Dark Chao and Chip statues.

There are statues for those two as well? :psyduck: Funky. When inputting the statues I put all of the codes into a notepad file and erased each one after I was done with it.

    Thank you!

Like five or six people asked that I do a video review for Sonic Generations and I am nothing if not a crowd pleaser

I seriously spent close to three weeks putting this together.

You never talked about the bosses!

Is anyone working on getting the boss themes for the 3DS version? A relatively clean rip of the Biolizard music could probably be obtained by waiting around during the sphere segments.

I value flowing in to topics more than pointing out every single thing specifically. I also didn't talk about the music, or the graphics, or the controls.

The key is to make your point without drilling too far down in to minutiae, and the video's already 13 minutes long.

Just an observation - the three bosses chosen for the 3DS version all have oddities surrounding their appearence in this game:

Classic Era - Big Arm: Sonic relives the memory of the final boss of Sonic 3 on the launching Death Egg... an encounter that's retconned out of existence in the locked-on S3&K.
Dreamcast Era - Biolizard: Sonic relives the memory of the penultimate boss of Sonic Adventure 2... which was fought by Shadow, not him.
Modern Era - Egg Emperor: Sonic relives the memory of the final boss of Sonic Heroes... which is, according to the console version of Generations, not actually a Modern Era game.

Well Crisis City never happened, he should be Super to fight Perfect Chaos and there was no festival going on in Spagonia during the events of Unleashed. It's all there just to be cool. And in a game like Generations you just have to let it slide.

Bam bam bam stamps this message on the entire Generations package

Seriously, this is what I've been thinking the entire time Generations has been in the spotlight, ever since conception. I certainly don't mind Crisis City's presence in the game, because it now houses my favorite Modern remix and favorite Modern level. So there.

I discovered this after exploring the hell out of that level for many, many hours trying to find some red ring. Ended up giving up and looking online for the sake of my sanity. >_>

  13. It took me a long time to realize the red rings on the hubworld don't fill in the order they are in the level. E.g. if you've found four, it'll always be the fifth spot that is empty, even if it's the first in the level that you're missing.

    Been playing the 3DS version.

All three classic Sonic versions of Classic levels are rip-offs, the Dreamcast levels are shit, and the Modern levels... are kind of fun, actually.

Modern Sonic levels are all pretty samey... but eh, I felt this way with the Rush games as well.

The bosses (not the rival battles, which are boring) are actually really fun. Biohazzard might just be my favourite boss battle in all versions of Sonic Generations, no joke. I especially love his remix too. Also, Time Eater is indeed a better battle.

Nice to see cutscenes don't use 2D renders, but they're pretty confusing to follow, especially if you haven't played the HD version. I love seeing classic Sonic with his mouth wide open looking amazed; its cute!

What music was remixed is very good, IMO. Although, Modern Sonic's Casino Night doesn't fit... you can tell it was made for the pinball game.

All in all, an alright game, I suppose. On-par with Rush, a little below Rush Adventure. To be honest, even though this was a rushed effort (pardon the pun), it wasn't half bad. And the missions would add a lot more hours to this short game, I think. Not quite worth the $40 but if you liked Rush, get it if you find it for cheap.

Also, Classic Sonic does indeed feel good, physics wise. Throw away Homing Attack but keep the physics for S4 Episode 2, Dimps!

  15. I've been slowly unlocking and completing Missions, and I unlocked one tonight by...who knows what I did? I didn't have anymore Play Coins either. All I did was Time Attack Tropical Resort Act 1 (I didn't even do that great of a job, even got hit once; I was really just dicking around at work) and I unlocked a new TR1 mission when I got back to the main menu.

So what are missions in 3DS version like? Please don't tell me they are "collect 200 rings" or "beat the level in 60 seconds".

  17. Yeah, it's not much different than that. Usually it's "Finish in X amount of time without getting hit/without destroying enemies/getting all item boxes/not touching enemies/etc." Many of them take place in a smaller enclosed area within the level they're hosted in.

I'm late with this because I'm super poor and I'm in college, but I finally got to play through the entirety of Generations, and I must say that personally it's the best Sonic game for me since Sonic Adventure. Gameplay wise, I think I feel it's superior in regards to overall fun-factor. The only thing I really dislike is the story. I thought the story was fitting for what the game is, but I really miss the epic-style stories from the Adventure era -- I feel that they brought Sonic games to life, and to another level.

As a classic fan, I thought I'd love the simplistic stories, and the super short cutscenes, but honestly ... I don't. I find the dramatic Sonic tales to be quite fitting, and I miss them. I can say that SEGA FINALLY has a real formula for Sonic gameplay. I was surprised at how well-done the classic physics were (wasn't perfect, but it was good enough).

Wow. Seeing this really makes me wish they had Crush 40's Sonic Boom in the game.

I was just playing, and... I just wanna say...

I fucking love this game. It just is NOT getting old. I mean, I'm gonna give it a year or so before I truly say this, but right now, to me, this game is better than Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Which is crazy, because nothing else has ever even come CLOSE.
