I really wanna see rail canyon/bullet station in HD, mostly because its unlike any of the other levels in the game, and would have to be reworked quite a bit, seeing as it was literally floating above a bottomless pit. Quartz quadrant would look really pretty in HD with all the crystals everywhere.

    Jack shit.
Rail Canyon was in a game before Heroes though. =P

If they remade it I would like to see stuff from both games make the cut.

To all those who are going "I want this as DLC", haven't they already confirmed that the DLC will consist in the Casino Night minigame?

Tomorrow, even. Too bad tomorrow I have school until 5. Something to look forward to, I guess!

Also, if this demo has any not removed assets (mainly music), I'm counting on you retroers to rip anything we'll find delicious. <3

Well we know that exists, but they could always make more. We'll likely find out tomorrow when the demo is ripped to shreds.

With how rampant DLC content is and the fact this game is exclusive to the HD consoles with the exception of the 3DS means it would be to good of an opportunity to pass up. DLC is where a lot of companies make extra cash on a game after it has released and I would hope that Sega would see the immense money-making opportunity with DLC stages. It is a lot of work, but I mean look how much extra money they could make off of one game, it would still be easier and cheaper than making an entirely new game. The stage I would want to see would probably be Marble Zone from Sonic 1, a lava and ruins area would definitely be a nice contrast to all the city stages and the only real water focused stage of the main game.

People are talking about other levels they'd like to see as DLC. The Casino Night minigame is only one piece of DLC where there's potential for a lot more. It may happen Unleashed style (new acts and missions, existing stages) or if we're really lucky they'll give us brand new re-made stages to play in. No word has been said on whether there'll actually be DLC, but it doesn't seem unlikely.

Plus SEGA had made DLC for every Sonic game on the HD consoles so far.

The Casino Night pinball stage is being pushed and marketed as a pre-order (and special edition) bonus as opposed to DLC. As an example to set expectations Sega All-Stars Racing had an entirely new level deployed as DLC (the Death Egg track with Ristar). The developer then stated in interviews that they had planned another level as more DLC but Sega cancelled it due to less than stellar sales. If an outsourced developer can produce that for a low-tier game then I expect Sonic Team to bring their A-game for something as substantial as Generations. Two new levels is an optimistic and realistic estimation. Sales have a massive influence on decisions like this (determining the audience of customers who would be able to purchase the new content) so we'll see how Generations fares.

I would expect one new level as a minimum. An optimistic expectation would be two. Future DLC after that will be purely dependent on sales. Hopefully releasing Generations before for the holiday rush will shoot sales into the stratosphere and we'll see new levels.

I think I might actually draw some fanart, with a little World Domination on the side *COUGH* DID I SAY THAT OUT LOUD
The Casino Night DLC DOES make me think, however, that as long as they have those assets, they could make a REAL Casino Night Zone as DLC. If they wanted to be jerks, they could make the content stack-- You can't get the level unless you download/pre-ordered the Pinball mini-game.

...And as I'm writing this, "Casino Night Zone" just came up on my music playlist. It's possessed, I tell you. Either that or it has GOOD TASTE.

It's a shame that DIMPS wasn't able to go about rendering double sets of textures/graphic assets while creating the 3DS version. Obviously, they're VERY different engines/graphic resolutions but HD artwork can always be appropriately downscaled. While it may not be as exciting as a wholly original level not seen in either version, having a console version of Casino Night/Mushroom Hill would be pretty nifty.

The kind of DLC content most fans are after is incredibly comprehensive and would take a lot of resources to pull off. I'm not writing off the possibility of one or two DLC levels (likely to be Classic stages as they're the most requested) but this will largely be dependant on the game's overall sales. The good news is that this looks by all accounts to be a blockbuster smash...the likes of which, neither Sonic nor Sega has experienced in over a decade. If the critical reviews don't convert non-Sonic gamers to the title, the word of mouth buzz generated should be nothing short of substantial. All this to say that this title has DLC content written all over it...!

It'll be another couple of years before we get another Sonic console title of this magnitude again, so in the meantime, you can be sure the powers at SEGA will want to exploit every opportunity to cash in on their golden goose! It wouldn't surprise me if a sect of Sonic Team wasn't squirrelled away working on this as we speak!

If they were going to make DLC I'd bet on it just being new acts for the existing zones. Which I wouldn't mind but, it would be cool to see a new zone or two.

Bingo. You can see they have confidence in the game with the Death Egg-sized marketing push they're giving it. Sega never markets their games to this level of effort and magnitude (site takeovers and sponsorship on television). All previews have been unanimously positive. Even the sites that have railed on Sonic for years are glowing about the game. It will be a success for them and a success they deserve. It needs to sell. It has to sell. And all indications thus far are that it will sell. I hope the game breaks records for them because it means A. Potential new levels as DLC and B. Potential new games that follow the Generations blueprint.

Sonic Colors almost hit a million. If Generations sustains a decent Metacritic average it should break a million. Easily. And that's good news for everyone.

Every game comes out in the US on tuesday though. It's nothing special. Unless Sonic 2 happened to come out that day, then it's probably an awesome yet unintentional coincidence
