So far only in the UK/AU. Also, speaking of the demo. I know of a way to get the demo off of Nintendo Channel using some tools to decrypt the download list and then get the data. If anyone wants to have a go at it: 1.) Make sure you have a Homebrew enabled Wii with the latest Nintendo Channel in from the UK/AU region. Or basically have a homebrew enabled Wii that can have access to this demo from the Nintendo Channel. 2.) Dump the NAND of you Wii using WiiND (I think) 3.) Explore the contents of the NAND and find the wc24pubk.mod file under /title/00010001/484154xx/data (xx is hex region code. 45 is E, 4a is J, 50 is P) 3a.) I'm not sure about this one, but see if you can find wc24dl.vff anywhere under the Nintendo Channel directory somewhere. don't DOWNLOAD ANY OF THESE FILES FROM THE NET, DUMP YOUR OWN - these are more than likely for other things besides Nintendo Channel. 4.) Download Ninchdl-listext, Wc24decrypt, and Binconv put them in one folder and find some way to keep both Readmes for referencing if you need it. 5.) Open Command Prompt and run "ninchdl-listext wc24dl.vff" (I hope you understand how CMD works), it should create two files either in the directory or the user directory: CSData.bin and decom.bin 6.) Open decom.bin in a Hex Editor and copy offsets 0xC to 0xF and use a calculator to turn this number into a 10 digit decimal. I'm not sure if this is what you do, but you have to convert 0xC to 0xF to a decimal number - that I know. I don't know how long it will be. 7.) Copy this url and put it in notepad: https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/248/49125/1h/en...ll/iiiiiiiii.LZ 7a.) In notepad, change the "entus" part of the url to match the region of your Nintendo Channel. I don't know what you change it for EU/AU though, so someone has to find it out. 7b.) In notepad, change the /RR/ll/ part of the url to match the Region and the Language (in this case, Australia would be /AU/en/, and Great Britain would be /GB/en). This I know for sure. 7c.) in notepad, replace the iiiiiiiii part of iiiiiiiii.LZ with the decimal number you just made in step 6. 8.) Open the URL in your web browser, and it should download a .LZ file. Put this file in the same directory as the other programs you downloaded in the previous steps. 9.) In Command Prompt again (CMD), type "ninchdl-listext #.LZ" (#.LZ being the file you just downloaded from Nintendo's servers) and it should generate a file called dumpu.txt. Now you have a list of all the URLs for the data that can be downloaded (videos, demos, etc) within the Nintendo Channel! 10.) Now in this step, you're on your own because I don't know how Nintendo names these files, but it's very simple. Go find the Sonic Colors DS demo in the the long list of URLs in the dumpu.txt file. Keep in mind, you're looking for a .bin file. 11.) Copy the URL of the suspected demo and download it with your web browser. Save the file in the same directory with all the other programs that you downloaded from the other steps. 12.) in Command Prompt yet again (CMD), type "binconv xxxxx.bin" (xxxxx.bin being the demo data for Sonic Colors) and it should finally create a .NDS for you! Then there you go, you should have a working rom of the demo. I noticed while writing this that Wc24decrypt.exe isn't used anywhere. It does have a use though, if this guide didn't help - but I'm not sure what to explain. Get it anyway and read up the documentation on it in case you get lost. More details about how the Nintendo Channel works can be read at http://code.google.com/p/wmb-asm/wiki/NintendoChannel Good luck! EDIT: Another way of retrieving the data is to use WireShark or some other packet sniffing tool to catch the packets while the Wii downloads or transfers the demo over to the DS. If it works, it should be sending the .bin file of the demo over the Internet. So this might be an easier way to get the demo. Then once you assembled enough data, you can use binconv to convert the .bin file to a .nds file. I don't know if it'll work, but it's worth a shot. Also, if I made a mistake - don't be an ass, because I seriously came up with this guide by using research a lone. I didn't try this for myself, so there's obviously going to be problems (like step 7a).
We all need to email him about how he's a great Sonic and he doesn't need to be disheartened by them haters. :>
He just do his job. He couldn't care less. :v: At least if I was him, I wouldn't care, as long as I'm being propperly paid every month.
I'm glad someone agrees with me. Though I do think I was exaggerating and emphasizing my opinion by saying "all I hear". Makes it sounds as if I think he sounds exactly like Sakura, which of course, simply isn't the case. I just hear Sakura in the voice, but as you said, it's not the most blatant example of this happening in voice work. In fact, as has been pointed out on TSS, and probably here too, Jason sounds fucking similar in most his roles. It's quite weird to hear Sonic's voice in the main male character of Kurokami. "I'm Sonic, I'm a doppleganger, and someday, Shadow's going to kill me." is what I think when I consider the similarity. (Points to anyone who gets the joke from having watched Kurokami.) Although, after watching the cutscene more times, I will say that I'm completely fine with both voices now. Just took some adjusting.
Sonic's new voice is pretty terrible. I cannot understand why they canned Griffith. He did an incredible job. This new guy, though. Ugh. Every word is cringeworthy.
I like Smith's take on Sonic... The only really negative thing I could think of is perhaps his voice is a bit too deep itself, but otherwise the acting is rather good for the part. Almost reminds me of Jaleel White in some strange sort of way. In fact, the whole presentation of the cutscene screamed of a Saturday morning cartoon!
I had my friend (Another long-time Sonic fan) watch the cutscene with Sonic and Tails, and his very first reaction was, "Whoa, when the fuck did Sonic's balls drop?"
I think this is some of the worst kinda fame one could attain, given the fanbase. :specialed: I can only imagine all the angry emails he'll get and petitions getting started up (and, much to my disappointment, signed) to bring back Griffith/Drummond/White/OVA Guy right now...I swear, they'll never find a VA that most everyone can agree on for Sonic. It seems literally impossible.
I think most people would be fine with Ryan Drummond or Martin Burke coming back. Roger is okay, it's just gonna take me awhile to readjust to his deep-ness. He's a good actor, it's just that I felt embarrassed watching that cutscene. Everyone is saying "OH IT WAS HILARIOUS", but I felt my stomach drop a few times, particularly when Sonic is wildly gesticulating at the audience like we're deaf and we need an interpreter. But it's not like I play Sonic games for the plot, anyway, I'll probably just end up skipping the cutscenes this time around.
Honestly, that has more to do with the writing and animation than the voices, but whatever. But I will agree, since Sonic Unleashed, they've been dumbing down Sonic with embarrassingly kiddish stuff. I mean really, there's a fine line between "not as serious" and "Looney Toons" animation and humor. I'd be fine with something on the level of SA1 again. The only things in the cutscene that I found funny were the moonwalk and the breaking of the fourth wall, the rest of it was just ugh. I mean come on, underwear to be worn by salad? Is this Dora the Explorer or something? I'm sure even Tails realizes how fucking ridiculous that was- if he had the translation right the first time on that line, why did he even suggest it might be something that makes LESS sense? I'm not gonna judge the whole game's writing and animation off one cutscene, but just from what this scene shows me, it screams that it's trying to be a kid's show. Sonic should not be like that, imo. This is probably why I prefer Sonic X over AoStH.
You all complain far too much for your own good sometimes. It's a game about a cartoon blue hedgehog. The last time the plot tried to go serious, we got Sonic 2006. We also had everyone harping how they liked the comical nature of Sonic Unleashed's writing. But now it's too kiddy. I do not have a facepalm.jpg big enough for what you people complain about or the consistency of sometimes. Yeesh...
It's a Storybook game in all but name. It is going to appeal more to kids than teenagers and grown fans. This should be obvious, but apparently it isn't.
Oh come on, 06 WAS the most serious game. That's an unfair judgement. All I said was that this is embarrassingly kiddish, not that I want everything to be super serious. SA1 was pretty lighthearted. I was fine with Sonic Heroes, because despite being lighthearted and corny, IT TOOK ITSELF SERIOUSLY. But talking about salad and underwear for no fucking reason screams "internet random xD I'm funny see?!?!?!?!? pie pie pie!!! salad wears underwear lmao!!11111!!" Besides, there IS too much gesturing. In this single cutscene Sonic seems more impatient than he ever has been in the games before.
