A friend of mine pointed this out. Said it wasn't even on Sonic Retro. Now it is.

Unfortunately I don't have the equipment to see whether it's some clever hoax/hack, but if it is real well... Sonic Eraser.

This makes me wish I had my external HDD. I have the Japanese version of Gems in .gcm on there...

If I can dig it up, I might look around for it.

Why the last two games are in orange: Perhaps because they were both only released in Japan?

How odd that it says "Wonder Boy V Monster World III" instead of its real overseas title "Wonder Boy in Monster World".

And no, the next game is just called "Monster World IV", no "Wonder Boy VI" in there. =P

I checked the Japanese PS2 version and there are no files for those games. I don't even see manual scans, etc...

ps: off topic, but is the wiki @ retro using anything from Gems Collection in terms of the art/manual scans? Thanks to Puyo Tools, we can finally get some clean scans out...

I'm doubtful, personally. I don't see why there would be all those games in there to begin with.

Weren't the Streets of Rage games and Bonanza Bros available in the Japanese version?

Also, Monster Lair appeared in a prototype concept menu of sorts that was found in Sonic Mega Collection.

It was too violent or something. Sonic Gems Collection had a "U" rating in the UK.

    Welp, this.
I think the whole thing with those manual scans is that they're for screen resolution but I'm not sure. I know I looked into it at one point.

If I recall correctly, the ROM header did say "WONDERBOY VI". I should recheck to make sure, though.

Actually, the ROM header says "WONDERBOY 6", so basically it does say "Six", just not in roman numerals but you get it. xP

Yeah, I can confirm it with my Japanese Gamecube copy. They're only "removed" in American and European copies because they were considered too "violent" for kiddies. :specialed:

But Sonic Eraser? There's something new. I would have loved to see it in the collection of now-obscure Sonic games.

I have a manual in decent condition of which I could scan. How would I go about doing that? It's the USA manual, and in decent (but not great) condition.

Something seems off with the video. Why would it be listed as a Mega Drive title, when Sonic CD isn't labeled as a MCD title?

In a screen shot you can see that Sonic CD is listed with a red MCD next to it.

In the video posted all the games he "changes to" give a purple MD, while Sonic CD given a blue SCD?

Wasn't the sega CD released in Europe as the MCD? YEEESSSS

And the game he's using must be the American release of Gems because Sonic CD is infact labeled with the SCD. Why are the games he's showing us that have information on the disc labeled as Mega Drive games in the American copy when we got the Genesis?

In short, this is a bullshit video and a fucking half.

Also, why would he disable comments in his video if this wasn't fake.

Try the codes for yourself if you think it's fake. I have no Gamecube, nor Gems, nor an AR Pro to try, but hey, the guy's also found leftovers from various other games too, like Mega Man X5.

Yeah, I'm also not sure how he would get the video to be a bunch of BS in the first place. It looks legit, and it's not as if it's farfetched. Maybe if he uncovered SEGASonic I'd be a bit sceptical, but y'know.

Unfortunately I don't have an action replay to try these out with. But the video is lacking in too much information to be legit.

What region is he playing the game? Why do the Genesis games show up with an MD title instead of SG, while Sonic CD shows up with SCD instead of MCD. Those right there make me think it's fake. Yes the japanese versions shows Vectorman as a SG title, because it never game out on the Mega Drive, that's understandable.

Also how the hell is he able to change the games so fast without re entering codes or selecting a different game on the menu? In his video unlocking the Museum games he made codes to have them overwrite the regular titles in the collection.

He obviously has GCNrd to make those codes so it probably allows you to change codes and addresses in real time.

Edit: He also probably disabled comments cause people like Commadoo make idiotic comments and call the video fake without trying the codes.
