  1. Wait, what happened to Open Your Heart as Sonic's All-Star move music? Is it customizable, or did they change it?

    They changed it to the stupider Heroes invincibility theme.

    I hope they patch it to Open Your Heart. It's much more menacing.

    I played the 360 version for a bit and man this game is awesome!

    I'm going out and buying the game right now.

    Also, Big is hax! He's surprisingly the best character for me.

    Man I wanted to buy it today, but it wasent in stock where I work >_>

    Lukily my bro let me have a go on the copy he ordered online, man dose it ever surpass my expectations for it, its a riot, it may be debatable whether its better than mariokart, but hell, its atleast on'par.

    Now we just need some dlc tracks like Radical Highway and Windy Hill, some characters from Skies of Arcadia and Ristar etc, then it will likely start to looking like its outshining the karting master (on ps3 and 360 anyway)

    now all I need to do is wait to get my very own copy >_<

    Ristar would be awesome, and Kaiser Greedy's All-Star move would be his huge black hole shooting up the track and sucking players in.

    Yeah, no variation in soundtracks for this game. Chronicles uses the same CD remixes globally as well.

    Aww man, was skies of arcadia such a travesty you had to edit it outta ma sentence? :(

    anycase I would imagen Ristars move, a spinny pole would appear, he'd loop round it a couple of time and just shoot off, in a supersonic'esk way, face smasking people in the way
     
  13. I imagined him throwing a load of those generic blob enemies onto the field as obstacles. The black hole sounds a bit like Tails'. Though Greedy probably wouldn't make the cut. Ristar's could be him grabbing the car in front and pulling himself towards it, damaging it as he collides, then repeating a few times =P For levels, Sonata or Scorch. I would say Freon but there are already a few wintery tracks.

    Also, Radical Highway and Windy Valley are great ideas. I would also, at the risk of overusing Heroes, like to see Bullet Station. Launch Base and Sandopolis (at least mostly interior) would be great, and even Toxic Caves.

    A Golden Axe level could work. I can see it now, driving past giants and things. It's quite hard to think of Sega games that would make good tracks, actually... Are there Nights levels yet? No, I don't think there are, that could work.

    No, I had no problem, I just wanted to focus on Ristar, because I had that idea for Kaiser Greedy's All-Star move.

    First, apologies again if you thought I was having a dig at you guys, wasn't my intention (unless of course you were linking to naughty things, in which case 'Why I oughta!')

    I see you've already started on looking at the game files too :) The XML files you've likely seen are all related to the audio. All the 3D graphics data is likely to be... tricky... to get at, not because we don't want you guy playing with it, but mostly as we had to keep the memory footprints small. I see you've had more luck with the 2D stuff mind. You've no doubt figured out it uses the same style of assets from VT2009/SST which is used by our 2D tools.

    It's unlikely you'll be able to hack in the exclusive characters from one version to another as they all use platform specific code. Certainly only the 360 has the required fur shader system to support Banjo for example. I tell you this not to issue a challenge, but just so you know the code isn't designed in any way to support it. Each platform also has the 3D assets exported in a specific data format optimised for that platform too, so copy pasted assets won't likely work from one platform to another. Just telling you upfront...

    Anyway, whilst I *officially* can't sanction any mods you've got planned, I'm always amazed at the things you get up to :)

    I'd like to chime in here for a second to say what's already been said:

    Yo, this game is dope.

    I'm finding myself wishing the interpretations of the Sonic Heroes levels actually looked like that in Sonic Heroes, and I enjoy how it actually takes some relative skill to be good at the game. Easily more enjoyable than Mario Kart Wii, IMO.
