Time to get new protos, maybe? Yes!

The controls are worst? WTF? I find the control better, and the SMB2j engine allows for high bouncing off enemies when you stomp them at the right angle.

 

I guess I should say the controsl are different then, since some can get used to them.

From that link I can see why the price is up there for SMW beta, if it's anything like that.

 

Wow. xD For the super mario world, I'd KILL FOR THAT! but when I look at that, I have some sort of the same sensation as I'm looking at that sonic 1 prototype with the city/mountain backround. Neat.

 

The screens of that SMW beta are boner-ific.

If you have all these sound clips and emulator images, doesn't that mean it's dumped?

 

Note that it isn't on the list, either. :P

 

I meant that we can get like 150 other protos for that price tag, instead of just one.

Well... The Garfield proto might have the "lost levels" that were later used as a SEGA Channel exclusive, ToeJam 2 might be the completely different game that was originally planned instead of Panic On Funkotron and EWJ2 is known to have had many levels and enemies removed during its dev cycle.

Not sure about the others.

 

Even if it's dumped doesn't mean it's an automatic public release, many collectors dump their roms to save them from bitrot.

What about that Zelda III prototype for the NES?
Most Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, or Sonic prototypes would be interesting really. If it's significantly different from the final and not one of the ones that suck (mario kart/party/sports game). And if they're not insanely priced, you know I can help out with the money.

 

Private dump or not, you guys should at least share the longer version of the underground music with world. You're depriving the other 99% of the Mario fandom of unheard Koji Kondo goodness!
