It's got the underwater funny man in it!

How much more prestige do we need!?

This is deeply, deeply strange. It makes sense when you remember that Paramount and SEGA have had a working relationship for a long time.

But actually seeing it kind of makes me want a lobotomy? It's so weird and slightly off-putting. But more characters is more characters, whatever.

And the new tracks look quite good, Dragon Road in particular looks fantastic visually.

Didn't think this needed to be said, but I am by no means opposed to the entire idea of crossovers. I even like some of what was done with the Mario & Sonic games (!) before someone whispered NFTs and esports in the IOC's ears.

I do know however that there are probably better ways of executing them than whatever Sega are doing here, besides counting on children whose parents buy them game DLC right after shelling out for the title itself. Crossing Sonic over with cartoons on something like Roblox or a cheap mobile app makes sense - but best leave them to get their own kart racer.

I'd say that was effectively what Sega themselves were doing by talking it up as being developed by the "elite Sega racing team" (who ironically enough have done stupid crossovers and content right in Initial D The Arcade on numerous occasions). It's another kart racing spin-off, sure, but some base level of standards and sense would be nice.

The sad part is all the above fake Miku stuff actually would've been better to me

It just occurred to me that Sonic and TMNT have been neighbors for decades, but this is actually the first time they've officially cross over that wasn't some reference or sneaky cameo

I’m soooo happy this is all real. I’m indifferent to most of these other characters but I don’t have anything against them.

I really don’t think Sega is just trying to outdo Mario Kart. They’re fun additions. Other worlds opening up in terms of story makes sense too.

I'm not terribly bothered. Considering some of the choices for ASRT's guests, plus how badly the LAST game I was excited for got ruined by guest characters (Fatal Fury fans know what I'm talking about), this is practically a breath of fresh air.

Besides, we know that they're DLC, so you don't have to download them if you don't want them, and we know we're getting + - Tangle   , so it's not like we'll be missing out on more Sonic reps because of this.

The user linked above, who first leaked the Nickelodeon content a few weeks ago, claims that

Tangle and Whisper will be playable characters.

Dang, that's a cool leak. I wish it wasn't outnumbered by leaks I hate, as much of a killjoy as that makes me. What a bizarre decision.

I have a proposition for the modders out there: Replace the guest characters with color-coded E-10000X models, rigged to the Egg Pawn's animations and using its sound effects. Maybe give associated vehicle parts the same treatment. Seriously, if such a thing ends up possible and anyone wants to talk prices, I might consider commissioning this.

My enthusiasm for this game was already quite low, hearing that IDW is in but still no Archie makes me resentful (IDW is average at best I don't consider it god's gift to sonic fans) and all this other crap just makes me go nope f this.

    ...huaugh.

So, on the one hand, I'm glad that the Sonic universe itself has a couple more reps to get in. And really, it's hard for me to begrudge them for taking deals that will almost certainly help the sales of the game. If we can get a Persona outfit in Forces, I don't really see anything wrong with some other IP's characters. But I am shocked at the depth of some of these crossovers, if they are just optional DLC. Entire tracks with unique mechanics? I want that from Sonic, damn it. They promised us SEGA IPs right when the game was announced, and while I care less about that than some of our members (ultimately the only thing separating them from the others is brand loyalty), I'd still rather have seen that first. Leaks gonna leak, sure, but the ironic thing about cheapening this game is that they didn't cheap out on the DLC, when maybe they should've? This should have been the excuse they had to go as weird with the Sonic inclusions as the damn card mobile game did, but between SEGA and Viacom, it's looking like half the cast is gonna be non-Sonic. I thought of this as the perfect followup to TSR before, with ASRT's mechanics and some Sonic deep cuts, but now these leaks have me wondering if the game will even bother having a story, which actually will effect my willingness to buy it.

Honestly the crossover stuff don't really affect the game much for me one way or another, but it's still pretty underwhelming that they're prioritizing cartoon characters over bringing back anything from actual SEGA properties. Like at least bring over the Daytona USA Hornet as a car option or something, I'm desperate here. I guess Miku is at least SEGA-adjacent if that ends up somehow being real, but I wanna see a lot more than that

Aside from that the game still just feels kinda...off? Idk if it's just the camera and animations but in all the footage it just seems rather stiff and janky looking compared to Sumo's games. Like, it doesn't look outright bad by any means, and it's blowing TSR out of the water from a character and track standpoint at least, but I'm still iffy on the actual driving model. There's also the decision to amplify the chaos factor by 10 compared to the previous games, which I don't like mainly because it brings the game a lot closer to just being like Mario Kart, compared to the (somewhat) balanced and skills-based gameplay that Sumo had pulled off. Holding out some hope that maybe the feedback they got from the beta test will change that but we'll see

TLDR: Wake me up when they add back the Bonanza Bros

Yeah, that’s what worries me the most. I still think the game looks incredibly slow, and that video showing off the speeds didn’t help change that perception at all.

If that's the speed at "Super Sonic Speed" then are you dragging a mountain at normal speed?

Leaker said SEGA is actually, at least, for Hatsune Miku, planing her for future. So at the very least, she seens to be real and that wouldn't surprise me, because her was already in Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble and that was BEFORE Fortnife doing it.

As for SEGA characters, we already know they're gonna be in the game, the leaker appantly choose not to show very much about them, or don't have acess to leak content, but they pretty sure are showing to know what's coming, so I'm not gonna make final asumptions based on leaks yet.

Remember also Sonic Rumble just got characters from Fantasy Zone and Altered Beast, which now days are not the most well-know games, so I will be expecting some probably deep-cut characters from SEGA IP franchise in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
