    Ah, good catch.

    Yeah, I noticed this too with regards to Ocean View but to be honest I'd already pretty much written the post when that video was dropped here haha. I think think my point still stands to an extent, perhaps even moreso since these seemingly new tracks use the names of old ones. Granted, I do find it surprising that they'd pass up reusing assets like track layouts, though it does make sense that they might really want to go in on as much new content as is feasible. It'll be pleasantly surprising if there aren't actually any fully reused track layouts despite the reused theming. I also don't think any of those tracks will be particularly missed given some of them have shown up in three games running, and many of them have appeared in at least two. It also stands to reason that the new devs would want to redesign even old tracks from the ground up to embrace their own design philosophy, so it could be the case that returning tracks are more like reimaginings with this in mind that might see some passing similarities to what came before.

    it's the video itself in this case, they showed footage of Transformed and TSR at beginning and they were choppy as well

    The game can end up being technical mess but this video is not an indication, at any case we will play it in a week

    Can I just say seeing the karts do tricks rapid fire as we have seen looks completely ridiculous, absolutely hilarious, and that I love it?

    Solid list for Sonic candidates, though I would be extremely surprised if any of the IDW characters made it in before Classic Sonic.

    Pretty much. I don't hate the idea of Sonic driving a car, but now that extreme gear are also available, I can't help but think this makes the cars look less... impressive?

    The image of Cream wearing skates as she speeds past all the car using racers is hilarious.

    I think Infinite is currently considered Dead, and Classic Sonic alone is probably more likely to get in than the IDW crew. 0 chance for Ray and Mighty though, no way Sonic Team is gonna give them 3D models for a spinoff.

    I have similar feelings towards Gemerl ever actually showing up in a game again after Dream Team came and went without a single mention of him. There are certain characters the devs just seem avoidant towards.

    the main gimmick of the game is pretty cool and inventive but I have to wonder how it'll affect the flow of the races? I always assumed multiple laps were to get you familiar with the track so you can improve on your second and third attempt lol

    I think the game looks good but honestly the air tricks look atrocious. Awful animations. That quality Sonic Team lack of polish. Kind of adorable.

    That trick speed honestly looks a little overkill, at least for full-blown vehicles. I also hope the handling modes will still feel distinct enough - the water for the boating segments seems a bit static. Other than that, I'm glad to see non-Wisp items making a return, plus all the other stuff we've already gushed about.

    ...I also had a "hear me out" thought: Port the Forces character creator and throw in some customization improvements. Mario Kart lets you race as Miis, let Sonic Racing bring in the OCs. They're already littering some of the tracks with them anyway. :eng99:

    I doubt it tbh, Marza do their own thing with these characters completely unrelated to Sonic. Would be cool though, hell they should make the werehog a playable character.

    That's true if you're only planning to play a track once and then never touch the game again. Once you know the layouts from replaying, you'll be fine. It's just a fancy version of AGES.

    This is also taking notes from Transformed. Layouts would swap radically between laps 1, 2 and 3 on most tracks anyways.

    I mean they’ll probably have a time attack mode still, right? We’re good.

    3 laps often ain’t enough to master a track anyway, so I don’t really think that’s a favor against what we have here. Lol

    That's actually a pretty good idea and now I feel surprised they didn't do it, considering they don't shy away from recycling assets from previous entries

    @Zephyr @CaseyAH_ Yeah I kinda just brain farted and grouped Classic Sonic with the rest of the classic cast but really he should be by himself right near the top of the list, maybe even at the top the more I think about it.

    I do still feel that IDW characters are more likely than non-Sonic classic characters just based off the bizarre headassery with which Sonic Team/SEGA treats these things, and considerations like whether the characters would be voiced, would the non-Sonics actually be in classic form or would they FINALLY get their modern designs from Archie properly canonised, etc. Ultimately I think the biggest logistical problem for the IDWs is casting voices but I don’t think that’s particularly difficult.

    Same for Classic Tails, Amy, and Knuckles.
    I know it's just not a case of copy+paste, and they would still need to create their vehicles for them but they do have something they can start from so they won't do it from scratch.
