Sonic the Hedgehog Cinematic Universe Thread (& Knuckles)

I assumed Metal Sonic was going to be the big baddie in the 2nd movie so it's definitely possible that he is in this one. Maybe he'll be combined with Emerl's lore (since he was a character in the shadow prequel animation we just got) and be one of the weapons of mass destruction that Gerald was working on in the ARK.

I could also see Iblis since we've already introduced him in the Knuckles show, but I doubt it since he's not a mainstream character.

I've been saying that I think they should replace the Biolizard with Black Doom, lying in wait for his "son" to return home. He sets off the ARK collision and fights in place of finalhazard when Shadow refuses to fire the eclipse cannon at Earth or something.

Plus, if this really ends up being the last movie with Jim Carrey, you can ship him and Stone off by having them steal Black Doom's spaceship and having gay adventures among the stars.

 

Love it, turn it into a spinoff show. Have em encounter things like Time Eater or the Ancients and point em at Earth to mess with Sonic

 

That would actually work with the story set up for GUN in movie 2 since GUN's purpose was to protect the world from aliens.

 

It also makes sense if Sonic X Shadow Generations is meant to be advertising the 3rd movie, it works as a refresher on who he is, and it fits with the movie universe having all the non-human characters be aliens.

IMO Black Doom (and the Black Arms) make a more interesting villain compared to the Biolizard, and if others like Rouge won't be in the movie, it gives the secondary characters something to do (fighting off an alien invasion).

 

This is hilariously what people thought the second movie would be.

 

Sonic Stadium has seen press assets for Sonic 3 which further confirms Keanu Reeves' casting as Shadow. His name is on a poster that lists the actors names. With this press pack, some insiders are speculating a trailer release this Tuesday, but people have been saying the trailer's almost about to drop since June, so I'm not holding my breathe on that.

Oh shit the movie's Twitter account retweeted it and posted a clip on TikTok from the first movie where Sonic is watching Speed and saying Keanu is a national treasure.

God I'm both intrigued and terrified about what Keanu's Shadow is going to sound like.
In the throes of much more hardcore Shadow the Hedgehog autism than I even ever had as a kid, something I've came to notice is that there really is no perfect or definitive take on Shadow's voice in English, at least to me.
David Humphrey owns but replaying SA2 I definitely noticed that his performance was less consistent than child-me remembers.
Jason Griffith has a good tone of voice but I find his emotional range to be a bit one-note.
Kirk Thornton… just really doesn't do it for me at all.
(And I haven't watched Sonic Prime so no comment there.)
Anyway, I feel like Keanu could add an interesting take to the pile. We'll see.

the Hayden Christenson rumors/fancasts gave me false hope they could cook in this department again but at this point it's faded.

 

I just find it interesting how they're using the Eggman logo from the games.

I mean, sure, the "Classic" Eggman logo (As in the one that debuted in SA1) appeared in the first movie's credits sequence, but only as a Mania reference more than anything.
