I for one welcome our Hammer Bro Amy overlord

 

See that's actually kind of clever and almost vindicates the not-Drop Dash clone they gave Amy.

It's such a shame they weren't as creative with Amy's base moveset.

 

Amy and Tails is a selectable choice on the file select screen.

 

I guess Amy throwing hammers isn't random as I thought.

 

Ray is the same size as Sonic and Mighty in the arcade game.

 

Now I wanna know what that "Surprise" option is on Mission Mode that they added.

 

Thank god I'm not the only person who was annoyed by that article. I guess Nintendo Life has joined Kotaku in the Writing Inflammatory Clickbait Articles That Make People Sound Crazy or Stupid for Having Perfectly Normal Reactions to Shitty Things Club.

Granted, some of those Twitter users are just plain silly and the discourse is definitely 70%+ bad faith sometimes, but they are definitely aware they are generalizing.

I've been disheartened to see the "Origins isn't actually bad everyone is just dumb" discourse on Twitter, but then again it's Twitter so it shouldn't matter and it's not worth the mental space in my head. It's definitely not the worst thing ever made and I had a lot of fun with the challenges... there's some fun stuff here. I'm not anti-game-dev, I'm just anti-anti-consumerism, and there's been some really weird business decisions being made here ever since SEGA removed the standalone games from Steam. Everything shown in Plus just feels like "oh that's cool!" with a footnote of "but you want me to pay extra... again?" Not doing it this time SEGA... enjoy farming those $10 bills, I'll be playing the We Love Katamari remake lmao.

At the risk of contributing literally nothing though, Amy's hammer throw is a nice surprise.

 

These publications, no matter their stances, they will tilt toward the publisher. When you recive even a small digital key for free, some silent rules are established and they will naturally excuse some stuff.

I saw it happening once, it wasn't direct, but the editor nudged the writer to give some brownie points on a review to mantain Capcom's goodwill. And in this case i'm preety sure Capcom didn't have anything with it besides providing a copy of the game.

 

Probably just picks a random mission from the list. Would be good to have its function confirmed, though.

 

It has been confirmed by some videos of people that already have it that it is a puzzle of an image of team Sonic having a party while Eggman and Metal watch, you unlock pieces for this puzzle with some kind of in game achievements

I mean, I think its a good addition, I like unlocking things for the sake of doing it, but idk why it has its own option in the menu, builds way too much hype for what would fit more as another tab in the images part of the museum

 

Last I heard Sega wasn't giving out review keys for this release.

 

Admitedly this feels like something that would have been much better suited as an extra unlockable the Museum menu.

 

So I may be the only person on this thread who is actually HAPPY with seeing the new Amy gameplay and I am eager to try her out for myself.

Another thing to take note of is that as of yesterday, Origins’ SteamDB page is STILL being worked on so whatever footage that is currently out in the wild may not be as close to final as we think (although it is pretty close)

There were some bugs in Sonic 3 in the new footage that were still there since the game launched (hidden cool bonus and the music restart bug) so it got me thinking that there’s no way Headcannon would have still let those go by in the past 7 months

 

I did not expect Amy to have her Advance moveset nor did I want her to. She looks fun to play as and is clearly adorable which is what I was hoping her to be. The Game Gear sound is noticeable but won't really affect my enjoyment of the games anyway. Maybe I'm just lenient.

 

So? Sega has other games you know. Comunication like this is built over time. It's not sent, recive and forget.
