Classic Sonic Mangás

Well, Tweaker authorized me to post this in this section, so I doing. ;D
My friend, Jim (who helps me revising the english version of XDragoon, because my english is shit
), for some months have been buying some magazines called Shogaku[X]Nensei ([X] because it have versions 1 to 6). It's the mangá about the hedgehog called Nikki/Nicky who transforms into Sonic (yeah, WTF... but they're fun. =P). Those mangás were never released in Graphic Novel/Tankobon format, so they're extremely hard to find. Those mangás apparently are made by 4 different artists. He got over 20 chapters right now. They're small, have only about 3 to 5 pages per chapter each sadly. Those mangás were where Amy and Charmy appeared for the first time!
Also... he found all 3 chapters of classic Sonic 1 Mangá, published as a special on Mega Drive Magazine in 1991 in color.

BUUUUUUUUT.... Jim spent a lot with those mangás, I have no idea how much he spent with them. So, I'm taking some commissions to help him to buy more chapters because he's going out of cash. The mangás will be released translated in English around June (more safe to say, almoste July. =P), one chapter per week or each 15 days (He didn't decided yet and, he won't release them all at the same time.) He doesn't have all chapters, there's a lot of chapters to find yet, according to my counts, it's about 60 ~ 70 in all those 6 magazines and more extra mangás released on other magazines of that time.
Any news, I'll update here.

Unused Sonic 1 Mega Drive animation...

Everybody here know those strange lost sprites on the ROM:

Well, in on Scrap Brain of 8-bit version of the game, an animation similar to it, happens:

It´s only happen while use the teleporter on Scrap Brain act 2. Maybe, the Mega Drive version was going to have teleporters similar to the SMS one.
I found it similar, and dunno know if someone posted about it, but I think this was interesting to check. -
Sonic Gaiden

Since 2004, or so, I didn´t updated Sonic Gaiden. For who don´t remember, Sonic Gaiden was the first Sonic 1 hack where you can play with more than one character. After I finish my animation project (see it on FanArt area. =P), I decided to return with Sonic Gaiden and my Chaotix hack for Sonic 2.
The Chaotix hack (See the sig), I having problems to mapping Vector sprites and add all characters to the ROM. Then, I decided to work more on Sonic Gaiden, and this time doing from zero. Level art wasn´t well worked on Sonic Gaiden, because I didn´t understand how to edit tthe 16x16 and 256x256 blocks... Then I focused more to work on the levels this time, before reprogram Mighty and other things on the ROM. Here is the first level I finished, Gemstone Garden Zone (final name, thanks to Tweaker for the suggestion. =P)


I plan to release the hack only on Next year.
EDIT 1: Now it have a definitive name, Gemstone Garden -
New Sonic 2 Box for MD

Ah, I finally found one to buy. This is a re-release of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for Mega Drive, made by Tec Toy in 2002, for celebrate it´s best-seller game on Brazil. Well, I got it just for collection, when looked on the back of the box, get surprised:

I know in the old original box, those beta screens was there,but didn´t expected on the re-release! XD Too bad, I don´t have the original box, becase my Sonic 2 came with the Mega Drive. But the cart is the same of the final, then, don´t need to go: OMG!!1 BR4Z1L H4V3 TeH BEATA! =P

First, maybe some people here knows me.... =P I´m the creator of the hack Sonic Gaiden, the one you can play as Sonic or Mighty. I came here because I need a lot of help with my new project.
Last year, I announced a Chaotix hack based on Sonic 2 and everybody can see pictures of it on my site here. And recently, and I don´t have much time to work with hacks any more. Even with those ASM dissassemblers and ESE able to edit level art (on Sonic 2), I can´t do much things... but I want to make this Chaotix hack (and Sonic Gaiden, I want to release the final version until the end of this year.) and Esrael, who was helping me is very busy too... then I need help... and much help! =P I need people who is able to:
- Create new artwork for the zones or Import them(from Sonic CD and Chaotix are nice. =P)
- Able to Import music from other games or create new music
- Wants to finishing the mappings for Vector (Esrael actually did 50% of it)
- Able to import the Select Data from Sonic 3, to have save games.
- Make Charmy able to fly
- Make Espio have a higher jump (this is easy, I know, just forgot the offset. =P)
- Make Vector have more time than the others under the water (like above...~_~; )
- Someone who is really wanting to have a hard job. =P
-I have sprites for Vector, Charmy and Espio finished since last year. Espio and Charmy are mapped on the ROM (I worked them separatly), Espio is using Sonic data and Charmy is using Tails data. Vector will use Sonic´s data too. Then, sprites for the players aren´t needed. Also enemies, I will work on them.
-For the levels, the art of it can use in maximum, 2 palletes. Why only two? Well, Chaotix characters uses lots of different colors... enemies and Eggman get screwed depending the character you will select. This is what I planning for the pallete order...
1st Pallete > Player
2nd Pallete > Enemies, Eggman, Rings, Whatever.... =P
3rd Pallete > Level
4th Pallete > Background
I want only 7 zones. Also importing zones are good too. I (trying...) to make a level based on Sonic 1 8-bit Special Stage. I wanted, if some one is able to import Quartz Quadrant past and Collision Chaos Past from Sonic CD.
-2 Players mode will be removed...because of the RAM problem... Also Special Stages too... I wanted to make like Sonic 1 and 2 from Master System, when you need to find the Emerald on the stage.
Sweet downloads:
Espio and Charmy - This pack contain 2 IPS files. Patch them in SEPARATED ROMS! Not in the same! To play as Espio, select Sonic. To play as Charmy, select Tails.
Vector - Contain one IPS file... To see Vector correctly, select "Sonic Alone" mode on Options. Esrael did a really good job with the mappings yet, but the game freezes some parts, for example the diagonal walkings aren´t mapped then freezes te game, but you can roll to don´t freeze.
Vector Sheet - This sprite sheet (in bad quality intensionally) is the progress of Vector mappings.

The last is a preview of Title Screen artwork. Yeah, Vector pallete is wrong. I still working on a background for it.
