yeah I hear yeah my friend, I guess now I''m kinda leaning towards 6 selected characters. sonic, tails n knuckles as normal.
Having mighty, espio and shadow would be a bonus and different.

Looks like ill have to see what I can come up with smile.png

    Thanks

Hey all got another question about characters , be my last 1 for awhile lol. I wanna show my project smile.png

how would I go about getting these characters and are

they all bin files?, I know how to edit code using context smile.png

    metal sonic "sonic cd"???

    tails - split sonic 2 or 3?

    knuckles - split sonic3&k or just S&K?

    amy "sonic cd"???

shadow ? dreamcast is too advanced for s1....

mighty & espio - chaotix art edit program?

I'm aware too that moves have to be coded for each character if that's correct?

+sonic would also be on the list already, could this number of characters be done...

selecting characters could be done with a sonic 2 options menu, how would I add this to sonic 1?

team up choice in the select, like knuckles and tails? just like sonic and tails.

    Thanks for your time

I figured it out people, thanks, done some more research on this thread and found my answer, seems c drive is better then having the file in my documents either that did the trick or it was the clean rom, as I used a converted smd file before using ESE..

    wooohoo! smile.png

howdy peeps, as I said in my post before I final split my rom using the sonic 1 split by hive, so I thought id test build, click build and get a s1built.bin file only 1k in size..

Are there other steps before that test?

There were errors during the build. To see the errors, open build.bat and add pause on a separate line at the end of the file, then run build.bat again.

If you didn't split the ROM yet, you'll obviously get errors because the disassembly references files generated during the split. Split the ROM first and then try to build. Splitting shouldn't overwrite any existing files the first time; however once the ROM is split you might want to get rid of split.bat (if you don't want to delete it, at least put it in another folder and if you ever need to use it again, move it back to its original location) to avoid overwriting your work accidentally.

I got this error message mate, ta for the pause option!.

    SN 68K VERSION 2.53

    SO\SONIC1.ASM<1> : ERROR : COULD NOT OPEN 'SO\SONIC1.ASM''
    LIGHTNING'S ROM PADDER

REPORTED SIZE 0 REPORTED CHECKSUM 0
SIZE APPLIED 7F CHECKSUM APPLIED 0

should that file be in a folder?

    thanks mate
