Topics I've Started
27 April 2013 - 09:27 AMSonic Retro is seeking a professional designer to commission for a project with abstract interpretations of classic or obscure Sega properties. Experience in apparel design, printwork or severe color restriction is a plus. Please e-mail [email protected] with a portfolio (Behance, Dribbble, standalone, etc.) and a desired hourly rate. We pay competitively based on experience, and are willing to pay a premium rate for premium design. No e-mails without portfolios will be considered. Your DeviantART is not a portfolio.
19 January 2013 - 10:59 AMI noticed in Black Squirrel's recent rewrite of the legacy of the Mega Drive in various regions, there was a tongue-in-cheek reference to "Asia"; that is, what's between Europe and Japan but is not South Korea. What all does this include? The list I've gathered of "PAL Asia" countries so far would be:
- Hong Kong/Macau
- The Philippines
- India (Shaw Wallace, 1995, ₹18,000)
- Thailand (Galaxy Group)
- Malaysia (Wywy Group)
- Singapore (Wywy Group)
- Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (Alesayi United)
- South Africa (Consumer Electronic Specialty Ltd.)
Are we missing anything else? The exclusion of Pakistan on that list jumps out to me, and I'd be interested in knowing if there was another distributor for Africa (especially for places like Egypt, Nigeria, etc.)
04 January 2013 - 01:06 AMHey, I'm looking for pre-Unleashed videos you may have that are in high quality to upload on the wiki rather than crappy YouTube rips. MP4 preferred.
13 November 2012 - 09:10 PMI'll be closing this project next week unless you guys can show me some serious activity. This thing has been dead in the water for a while.
24 October 2012 - 10:14 PMSo the hurr durr KA-REEPY GAMING phenomenon has latched on to one of our favorite-ever images:
Now, no one really disputes the "Infinitely fun / Sega Enterprises" part of the translation. Rather straightforward. What I have an issue with is "Majin-e" bit. Cursory Googling says this is a pun on one of the animators, but nothing in the credits list suggests that. I've always just read it as commentary on the weird background image. Anyone able to shed light on this?
