Bootleg Sampler
26 October 2012 - 02:45 PM
So I was looking at the Sega Retro page for the Bootleg Sampler Saturn demo disk, and noticed a few differences between the one on the wiki and my own copy. First off, the disk artwork is actually different; rather than the orange color the EU version has, my US one has a silver/Blank CD colored cover with orange and black text (hopefully I can get around to scanning it, b/c there is no image of it there).
More importantly, I noticed that on the wiki, it states that Bug! had a playable demo on the disk. However, there is no Bug! demo on my copy, just a video trailer for it. Since the scanned EU copy is likely the one used for this information, this would imply that the two versions could actually be different. Can someone confirm if this is just a wiki mistake or not? It would be interesting if the PAL version actually had an extra demo on it. -

Sonic 1 Color Contrast
New Video Update: Some of the recent changes.
1-5-13 Update:
Spoiler
Video of Special Stage palette changes:
Spoiler
Current Version: Beta 2.3
Eggman has stolen almost all of the colors from South Island (and Sonic himself), and it is up to Sonic to return them to where they belong.
The object of this hack, is to track down/find the Color Monitors hidden in each stage. Upon finding them, the colors of the area will be returned and the player can proceed to the next stage.
The aforementioned Color Monitors include:
'S': Returns the normal colors to the stage.
'Sonic': Reverts Sonic's colors back to normal, and grants 1 extra life.
'Goggles': Returns all underwater colors to normal, including Sonic's.
'Music': Changes the background music back to normal.
'Cycle S': Returns all of the cycled colors to normal.
'Restart': Brings you back to the start of the stage.
Current Features
- -All 5 of the designated 'Color' Monitors function properly in each relevant stage
-There is therefore a 'new' palette for each stage and Sonic
Planned Features (To-Do-List)
- New layouts, primarily for all of Labyrinth Zone. (Including actually hiding the monitors; they are not hidden in this current build, for testing purposes and such)
- New Special Stage Layouts
- A proper fade effect for the palette change.
- More detailed changes to SBZ 1&2's Palettes.

Prima Games 3D Level Maps
04 June 2012 - 04:24 PM
As floor plans, elevations, and axons of the 3D Sonic Stages are quite rare, I've decided to put together the level maps (from Adventure to Unleashed) from the Prima Games Strategy Guides as single images, and post them here in case any one was interested in them ( also as to not clog the other topic). If anyone knows of any other/better ones (or any other undocumented rare maps), post them here as well.
I felt that the ones they drafted for Adventure are fantastic (and extremely informative/accurate), so I'll start there:
(As a side note, these images are mostly just the geometries/drawings alone, without the symbols, item indicators/etc; for clarity reasons I left them out. Unfortunately, these are also a bit low-res as well. If anyone has a hard copy of these, they could be scanned at a higher resolution.)

Eddie Lebron's Fan Film, "Sonic"
26 September 2011 - 11:11 PM
Not bad......though his outfit seems sorta flashy and bright for the 'darker' personality they seem to have given him here. I really love the scene's background and environment as well.
