  1. More info on Sonic and the Secret Rings

    31 December 2006 - 11:58 AM

    http://sega.jp/wii/sonic/

    Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy will be playable in multiplayer - two screenshots are shown of the party games too. Sonic is still the only playable character for single player, but the others will be a part of the storyline. The page also mentions something about multiple endings.
  2. Sonic Next-Gen lands E10+ from ESRB (New Trailer)

    07 September 2006 - 05:51 PM

    A new trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog (PS3/Xbox 360) reveals the ESRB's rating for Sonic's first next-gen outing: E10+, the same as Shadow the Hedgehog. The trailer features mostly CG cutscenes, all of which are impressive to say the least. But it's the gameplay that counts most, so make sure you keep the two separated before you squeal "OMG."
  3. First Official Trailer for Sonic Rivals

    Apparently the game's tagline is "Go fast, go hard, or go home." Maybe it's just me, but that sounds less like a Sonic game and more like the withdrawl method.
  4. Sonic Rivals pricing error...grab it quick!

    08 July 2006 - 07:28 PM

    Wal*Mart has Sonic Rivals available for pre-order for $19.82. They typically honor all pricing errors, and from the looks of it, it won't be long before they fix it.

    $39.99 at Gamestop, Best Buy, and Amazon.
  5. "Genesis Collection" coming to PS2/PSP this fall

    25 June 2006 - 08:44 PM

    According to Joystiq, Sonic the Hedgehog will be appearing in a collection of Genesis games aptly titled "Genesis Collection." It should be available for both PS2 and PSP this November. There's a good chance we'll see more Sonic games, as the list of 31 games hasn't been completely revealed yet.

    While at the Sega holiday event last week, one of the more promising titles I came across was the upcoming Genesis Collection for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable -- due sometime in November. Normally, I shy away from these collection-type games, but Sega has a special place in my heart. Growing up with just about every console, my fondest memories are the ones with the good ol' Genesis.

    As for this collection, it pretty much will have the essentials. Not all of the 28 games included -- there will also be an additional three to unlock -- have been officially announced, but here are a few that were on the version I saw:

        * Shinobi II
        * Sonic the Hedgehog
        * Golden Axe I, II, and III
        * Virtua Fighter 2
        * Altered Beast
        * Ecco the Dolphin
        * Phantasy Star

    I've always wondered why Sega never released this kind of collection before, but it's about time they did. A Sega rep assured me that all the titles would be direct representations of the originals. So, no George Lucas-like revamps here. Are there any games missing from that initial list that you'd like to see included? ToeJam & Earl anyone?

    I'll wait for the superior "Sega Everything" collection on an Xbox 360 DVD. =P
