Sonic the Hedgehog 2 appears on the iPhone
19 April 2010 - 09:15 AM
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is now on the app store, megadrive version of course, Packed in the same emulator as Sonic 1.
Due to the nature of the device and sega not wanting to bother with any wifi multi, 2 player is disabled.

http://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/sonic-the-h...d347415188?mt=8
Some talk before release was saying tails was unavailable to be selected, might be due to them locking out the options screen to stop cheats being used also. -

Sega Genesis/Megadrive Ultimate Collection coming to iPhone
20 January 2010 - 08:32 AM
http://toucharcade.com/2010/01/20/space-ha...icial-emulator/
If anything it will be the same as the Sonic 1 emulation already on the app store, same emulator with different games.
The app is suppse to be released sometime today for free, and the freebie game it comes with is Space Harrier II, other games as DLC include:
Sonic the Hedgehog: $5.99
Golden Axe: $4.99
Ecco the Dolphin: $2.99
Shining Force: $2.99
Don't tell sega but they priced Shining Force too low for such awesome

Rather random theory on the "Zeebo" version of sonic adventu
15 January 2010 - 06:47 PM
If you don't know what the Zeebo is, it's this.
At one point their main website (was it their website?) had links to box art's from games which may be coming out, among them was Resident Evil 4 and Sonic Adventure. Now it's been quiet for quite some time but someone over at gaf brought the zeebo back into attention linking to a youtube video of RE4 being played on one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VDxgNWZ4ak
The interesting thing here is that this version of RE4 is 99% the same as the iphone/touch app store version, and that is probably simular to the japanese mobile phone version the other year, but I do know the iphone version had a few updated textures and poly added in.
I then thought about the Sonic Adventure box we seen in the past for the Zeebo and SA1 coming out on xbox live arcade (and psn when confirmed) I started thinking that maybe SA1 is also being ported to the iPhone? it's highly possible because they could use that for both the Zeebo and iPhone if anything like RE4. Just thought I would post what I thought about it all before I forget.
