    The "worldwide partnership about the sonic franchise" bit was somewhat interesting. I wonder if Sonic is staying exclusive for some time.

    At least sonic in Smash 4 is basically confirmed now.

    Usual famitsu leaks, I read it on Neogaf and on an italian site. There is always a chance the countdown is for another game, but usually these leaks are pretty accurate (like the Etrian Odissey 1 "remake" leaked from the same magazine today).
    Tomorrow Japan time there should be the official confirmation anyway.

    And I'm pretty sure you don't need Firefox to see these leaks :p

    To be more specific.
    Silver and Shadow are unlockable, the other are not.
    If you get all S on the city missions, you get an Achievement (360 version) with the face of a character as the icon (one for each character. Knuckles for Sonic and so on). If you complete the city missions (no rank requirements you instead get an achievement with the icon of the other character (Tails ofr sonic, and so on), but they are not playable (on their own at least).

    Those sounds like the requirements for the achievements, so they probably took them from there. If there is unused text in the game, maybe they were supposed to be unlocked like that at some point, but 2006 was supposed to be a lot of things, so who knows.
