corneliab, on Yesterday, 03:24 PM, said:Oh okay, I hadn't checked it out yet so please disregard.Um, it totally was a bug back on the original game. This "narrow path" was only large enough for the block to pass through. Ducking basically let you pass through a wall.
Now, as for the raising pillars that Sonic can get through in Green Hill 2... They were made solid in Sonic Jam and that was made by the original devs, so they might have intended to be solid in the first place, I guess?
EDIT: Also... Is it just me or is one of the DAC sounds being played too loud in the music tracks? -

Diablohead, on 19 May 2013 - 05:05 PM, said:I noticed a few areas like that where the camera was either too low or not in the same location as sonic 1 megadrive, but I don't think it matters too much.
I'm saying this because a long time ago I found in some hacks (like Stealth's Kunckles in Sonic 1 for example) that if you climb to the top of the level and avoid part of it, when you are at the end...

The camera is stuck at a similar height. But if you follow the normal path:

The camera is in the normal position. That's why when I saw the position of the camera in the remake I started to wonder if that was done on purpose.
It looks like the game is skipping a "screen lock" for some reason, which would surely qualify as a bug.
Please do report. -

Is Sonic's height being shortened while crouching, like in the original Sonic 1?Not sure if this is worth any consideration, but the bug in Marble Zone 2 that lets you duck under the rectangular platforms as the square floats across the lava to the left does not work in this version. I realize it was bug, but I would always just duck instead of jumping onto the platform and waiting for the block to float under. (This bug is documented on the wiki's bug list, and there's probably a youtube video of it somewhere)
I can understand if you don't want to implement this bug as a feature.
Sky The Destroyer, on 19 May 2013 - 09:29 PM, said:This also happened in the Past levels from the original Sonic CD. I'm guessing they're just trying to make the Classic series a bit more consistent. Not sure if this would really be categorized as a bug, but after hitting a goal post, the music stops. Why is this? The music never did that in the original Sonic 1. (This is also happens in the Sonic CD remake if that helps)
Machenstein, on 19 May 2013 - 09:12 PM, said:Also, why those polygonal-looking palmtrees? Make them realistic! =PThis really isn't a problem with the port as it was with the original, but Green Hill Zone's background is a jumbled mess. It's not as well put together as the backgrounds of subsequent zones. Would it be possible to make a new background that's loosely based on the original, but a bit more coherent? -

It let you select your character first, and then loaded the records set with it.Selectable characters in Time Attack. If needed, make separate leaderboards for each character...if possible. -
