    Not sure if this has ever been posted here (or if I ever posted it) but:

    (specifically 0:47) from Xenoblade Chronicles

    (1:02) from Sonic Free Riders
    https://www.youtube....h?v=3RWj8lD5CNw

    Both came out in 2010, oddly.

    Just judging by the tone its likely they both got the riff out of the same loop library.

    Also, this thread has been on fire lately. Great finds guys.

    Retroman: That is embarassing, at least we know where that sample came from now. hahahahahaha

    *The show coincidentally was advertised on the Sonic OVA

    The Japanese one or the English one?

    English. The VHS version specifically, I havent seen the DVD. This show was fairly popular in japan but was pretty mute when it was localized, especially compared to Evangelion. Maybe it has to do with the shows strong religious themes.

    Also, haha @ Kraz!

    So the "GO!" sample was never MJ but Run-D.M.C. all this time?

    Its also in that zero-g library that the "turn it up" sample is from. I have no idea who took it from who though.

    @retroman: Nice find!

    For a while now I've thought Knuckles theme from Sonic 3 sounded a lot like Poison by Bell Biv DeVoe.

    Wrong, my man. The drum samples used in both songs were extremely common in the New Jack Swing era. Michael Jackson has even used them. The closest anyone has come to comparing Knuckles' S3 theme to something was MJ's Blood on the Dancefloor and Ghosts.

    The whole point of this thread is to point out similarities and find songs that sound like game songs. ;P There is no connotation that the comparison means anything, just that they sound similar.

    It was created as a counterpoint to the X Artist composed\ripped off Y Game Song because another song happens to sound like it mentality.
