What other game's gimmicks would you import into Sonic?
02 March 2011 - 06:11 PM
Every once in a while other games come along that do something that isn't expected and throws a curveball into Gaming as a whole. How would you take these concepts and put them into a Sonic game?
For Example:
I wouldn't mind seeing a Sonic level using Portal's portal gimmick. Need to run up a wall without a ramp leading up it? Just run through a set of conviently placed portals and run up it as it was nothing! Having the portals pre-set would kind of limit it, but it would be a fun little gimmick for a space lab type of level.
Another gimmick I would like seeing is Ristar's swimming mechanic into a Sonic game. Sure, Sonic can't swim (Tails' swimming is nothing more of his flying under water,) and water levels would slow you down, but with a swimming character the level would be faster if done correctly. The only downside to this would be the fact that you would have to make an entirely new character to use this, and Sega only uses the same three character types over and over again.
Anyone want to elaborate or add things?
