Damn TimmiT you're fast. I was watching the CVG liveblog and came straight here to post this and the thread was already up. You posted this thirty seconds after the announcement. You're fast. Faster than me. As for this announcement the game looks promising. Reminds me of Colours. I'm curious about the "worldwide partnership with Sega regarding the Sonic franchise". It sounds like Sonic may now be exclusive to the Wii U? If so Sega may be making a mistake there. Wii U sales are catastrophic. I have a feeling a cash-strapped Sega may have accepted a moneyhat here. This is positive news in that we're getting a new Sonic game but also negative news if the next Xbox and PS4 are now not getting a true next generation Sonic game. Something I was really looking forward to. The question is: does this mean Sonic is now a long-term Nintendo exclusive? The language Nintendo used indicates so. Anyone?

Also watch out for Sonic Classic 2. I believe Hez said the release was six months away but that was two to three months ago so it should be coming soon. All signs point to it being just as good if not superior to the original Sonic Classic which as previously stated was a damn good game. Sonic Classic 2 should be on your radar as the "next" Sonic fangame to look out for. I wonder how it's progressing actually. Hez has been quiet as of late regarding its progress. The guy is a machine though so I wouldn't be surprised if it has made substantial progress over the last few months. While we're on the subject of upcoming Sonic fangames I believe Nitemare is also working on a reboot of Sonic XG which was a huge Sonic fangame back in the day. The trailers indicate he's making swift progress on that too. So upcoming fangames: Sonic Classic 2 and Sonic XG.

My recommendations are therefore as follows: Sonic Axiom (play this seriously). Sonic Classic. Sonic Classic 2 (when it releases). Sonic XG (when it releases).

Hahahahaha. Holy shit. I'm laughing my head off right now. That's hilarious.

Two words. Sonic Axiom. The best Sonic fangame ever released IMO. A herculean effort with inspired art direction and level design close to the classics. Adored that game when it came out. Make sure you give it a shot. Outside of that I would also strongly recommend Hez's Sonic Classic. Damn good game also.
