As you surely may have noticed, the boards are finally back! What you may NOT have noticed is that we've decided to move off cultnet - we commend Saz and appreciate his previous efforts with both the board and the site as a whole, but we decided that it was time to move on, and pursue management of the board that allows us to be more independent, until we can eventually get our own dedicated server.
You'll notice that Scarred Sun is now an admin. Perhaps this should give up a hint at who our new host is. =P
With that said, we're hoping that this new management can keep the board going smoothly, and that we can expect some more positive changes in the future in regards to the board, and the site as a whole. For those who had issues with the IRC channel before, due to IRCop abuse as well as other factors, I urge you to give the new channel a try - the details are irc.badnik.net #s2beta. Previous special access rights are not currently intact - we hope to reimplement those once we get our main, official server back up (irc.s2beta.com), which will be linked to BadnikNET, and you'll be able to access both #retro and #s2beta (as well as other possible future channels) from either server. Opers and channel ops should be mostly the same, with considerations taken into account as to whether or not people are comfortable with them running things.
As for the forums... well, don't expect much to change; however, plans are in effect to add a few small changes to the registration system, including the completion of the "Advanced Technical" quiz, and an feasible option to skip the quiz for certain individuals that warrant it. Nothing big, but hopefully changes that can expand our userbase in a positive manner. Wouldn't mind to hear any thoughts on that, either.
Anyway, that should be jist of things.
