Hmm, I see we don't have much discussion on emulators, and I think we should, seeing as they can help hack makers to choose which emulator to test their hack on.

Currently, I'm using Generator - it's for the Mac, and it's awesome. Never drops lower than 60 FPS on my MacBook.

Kega Fusion normally. Genecyst for when I'm doing VRAM stuff.

Unless the ROM is >2MB, I don't normally use emulators :)

Last post for me as a trial member.

I use KEGA Fusion as it seems to be the best overall emulator. I do have some issues when playing SHB's Sonic 2 Long Version Hidden Palace Zone and his Genocide City doesn't work with that emulator either. But I use DGEN to play that hack as it works perfectly.

Lately, I've been using Gens Plus and KMod, as they help with hacking/debugging. However, when I play 32x games/casual games, I tend to use Kega Fusion, for a more nostalgic/accurate playing experience.

I generally use Generator for hacks, and Genesis Plus for everything else.

Kegs Fusion, DebuGens for hacks, Gens KMod for hacks and GensTracer the best for hacks and finding codes.

I use DebuGens more often than not, simply for the debugging features it has. If Kega Fusion has these, I'd use that instead.

I use a combination of Gens KMod, my own Gens source edit (for disabling music channels to make sure all music sounds correct), Kega Fusion, and Genecyst.

Kega Fusion - for better accuracy than Gens offers
Gens (+ various edits of it, including mine) for hacking.
I tend to use some other emulators for various things, but I mainly stick to those two.

I'd like to state that Gens compared to Kega Fusion is like Mazda compared to Ferrari. Fusion just lacks the debug functions.

Hackers should test on the most accurate: Kega Fusion.

Theoritically hackers should test on the hardware, but it's not always possible.

Of course Fusion is much better for testing than Gens, but for debugging, Fusion is useless.

I always use Gens, but I also use Gens+ for challenges at Sonic Cage Dome.

I think Gens is best, and Generator for Mac.
