Nice find. I can certainly see the similarity.

Everyone loves Sonic 2 Beta. Maybe an employee at Sega found an alpha of S2 and said 'Hey! These cool balls will make a good addition to 0ur gamez!'. And if he did, Rika can start raiding the headquarters. =P
But either way, nice find ICEKnight.

I agree with the fact they look the same, but I doubt sega would use the idea for it. They may have been keeping the design from the production of Sonic 2 for a new game so they make us go "Look" But I agree and disagree. Woah did this post count

Correct me If I'm wrong, But that Ball is 2x2 Tile Blocks, and In the Sketch are write "4x4 Cells". Where is started that ball is the ball in the Sketch?
That is a Huge Star Ball, Like the Found by ICEKnight.
Interesting, I can make badnik ballz to the International Badnik contest?

True, but since is wasn't in the game it could have been not finished sprites. But couldn't be bothered to take them out.

Nopez, this is more a hazard than a badnik. =P
About the ball found in the ROM, I'm guessing the artist just decided to make his own interpretation of the sketches, hence why it wasn't implemented...
