EDIT: Disregard this post, new stuff below.

Well, it's been a while since I've been using this site, after a certain post I'd rather forget.
As for what I've been doing, not much.
But that isn't important! I know what I should be talking about here.

A while back I was doing some lurking over on SSRG, and found a free assets thread.
I used some of these and started working on a Sonic 1 Hack.
These are some images from there.
Now, this hack I don't plan on putting in the Hacking Contest, at least for a while, I will keep working on it for fun.
As for the level names, I have some ideas.

Ash Mountain: This is the GHZ clone with art from the free assets thread you saw above.
I plan on making Act 2 a more underground themed level than the first one, which is almost entirely above ground.
What I plan on doing in act 3, along with all other act 3's is doing a GameGear and making a short level with no rings.
That's all I really have in plan for this zone at the moment.

???: The currently unnamed purple zone you also saw.
I'm not sure what to do with this one, although I have an interesting concept for modifying the art with some scrap metal(?)

Labyrinth: I decided to not show this zone as I've done literally nothing with it, not even change the name.
My reasoning for this is that LZ is annoying to modify for me, I use SonLVL so I can't change the underwater pallete or even see the water when I'm making a level.
My second reason, is that I just don't like Labyrinth, and I don't enjoy having to go through it over and over. (I made this Hack for fun, remember?)

As for my older hack, Sonic 1: Ruthess Edition, it's cancelled.
If the whole Hacking Sonic 1 experience has taught me anything, it's that you shouldn't work on a side project because it almost never works.

I don't have the right INI files for SonLVL. (I can't modify levels other than GHZ, SLZ, and LZ without an error message like THIS coming up.)
That's my excuse to why I can't do any levels other than the three I already mentioned.

Conclusion: Thanks for reading all of this, I really hope this wasn't a waste of time (For me OR you) and I'll continue working on this Hack, and see where it goes. (If anywhere that's not by desktop.)

Special Thanks: LuigiXHero and Gamma V on SSRG for some assets that I used.

First up, sorry for double posting.

Okay, after a lot of procrastination, I'm finally working on something again.

I'm working on new things for the hack again, and currently I'm calling it "Sonic 1.5". Note: Copyright symbol to be removed soon.
As for why it's called that... I couldn't come up with anything else.
So if "Sonic 1.5" is already a hack, please tell me, I'll try to come up with another name.

On to what people actually care about.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
ZONES:

Everyone's favourite, Green Hill Zone!

"Green Hill is a green place, where Robotnik is at it again!
Mr Hooman sucks at art editing, and because of this, Green Hill still looks the same as ever.
Now Sonic has to go through this boring old zone again, and get to somewhere or something."

Nice description, eh?
But yes, I'm awful at art edits and that's why this zone exists in the form.
But hey, it's also the easiest to finish making, so I should probably stop writing this and get back to that.

Marble Zone

I still have yet to make any substantial edits to this, but I'm considering making a version of Sonic 2 (8-Bit)'s Underground Zone.

Sand Stream Zone

This is where I plan to make some REAL edits, as I'm planning to turn spring yard into a sort of desert-y sort of place.
Previously I was planning on turning it into a mine, but when I open the zone in SonLVL, I look at the mine edits, they look bad.

Labyrinth and Star Light

No plans yet.

Scrap Factory

Basically Scrap Brain, for now at least.

Factory Core

Take a wild guess.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Music

I'm also terrible at SMPS. Hooray for me.
Basically, expect music from the free assets thread on SSRG.
(LuigiXHero and GammaV are my saviours)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Release?

I still have a lot of work to do, but I want to make sure it gets released this time.
What do I mean by "this time?"
I cancelled it last time.
Basically, I don't want a repeat of last time I tried working on this.
It isn't easy trying to make a hack in a one amateur team, but things are going better than expected so far, I'll try to keep this updated.
Until next time, Mr Hooman out.

I think showing some screenshots or video footage within the post would serve you well, friend.

I would but the only zone I've made many edits on is Green Hill and even then it's still pretty unfinished, but I'll try to get some in with an edit.

Maybe come back and post about your thing when you've got some things to show? Locking the thread for now.
