Someone is going to have to tell me how North Star and Yakuza are related since some people are hating on North Star and talking about Yakuza fatigue for North Star only.
You're going to have to give more details than that.

The Yakuza devs are making a Yakuza-like Fist of the North Star game. Even has the voice of Kiryu doing the voice of Kenshiro. It looks pretty incredible.

I've seen people talking about Yakuza fatigue or calling this North Star game a Yakuza for some reason, when the only Yakuza related thing is a voice actor.

Pretty sure the game is going to be a lot like Yakuza games. Aside from it having the same developers, the game's name is a combination of Hokuto ga Gotoku. Which is a combination of Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star's Japanese name) and Ryū ga Gotoku (Yakuza's Japanese name). So I imagine it's going to be a combination of the two series.

The similarities are noticeable. I don't see the problem though as we know what type of combat and tone of the game we're getting.

Yakuza 6 has been delayed by one month. It now comes out in April.

The Yakuza 6 English demo was released today, and pulled from the US store a few hours later. They accidentally released the full game for free on the US store instead of the demo. The download was pulled a few hours later.

This sucks because I was planning to download & play the demo soon as I got home from work today, but I had to work an hour late due to a big project at work this week. I was less than an hour late from getting the mistake demo. I've already played the Japanese demo, and have PSN accounts in other regions so I could still get the demo if I really wanted to, but since the save file carries over and I've had the US version on pre-order since last year I might as well wait for the correct demo to be released instead.

Didn't Sega recently do the same with the Daytona arcade game?

So stoked. Was expecting early 2019 at best, this was a great surprise.

The review embargo for Yakuza 6 was last week, by the by. I reviewed it for GameXplain if you want to check it out on their channel. The basic gist is that combat is a step back all in all. The new physics engine is great to mess with, and fighting is still fun, but I kept yearning for the variety 0 brought to the table. The breadth of content isn't quite as plentiful as recent entries either, which is disappointing. On the upside, most of the returning minigames have finally gotten an upgrade, and the ones that are new are decent enough in their own right. Kamurocho has never been so engrossing to muck about in. Onomichi is definitely charming, but I wish there was more going on in its comparatively small map. The death of loading times when going into shops/restaurants is incredibly welcome, 40+ hours later and it still feels soooooooo good to just stroll on into a Poppo. Side stories are still fun and (in my opinion) the main narrative is one of the better tales in the series. Still a solid entry, but possibly temper your expectations some and keep in mind that Y6 seems to be laying a foundation to iterate on in the future of the series just as much as it's sending Kiryu off from it.

Really? When we got two games last year I expected the same this year.

I expect the Kenshiro game to come in 2019 and by that point I guess Sega Japan will have announced new games by then.

I think with both Yakuza's resurgence and surge in popularity in addition to PlayStation exclusives on the horizon like the Spyro trilogy - it might be time to get a PS4.

Sega seem to be working on creating an entry point for newcomers with 0 and the remakes for 1 and 2. So it might be the perfect to get in to this series with 2 now coming in the Summer.

I personally want a Kiwami 3 then a 4 & 5 collection. 3 needs a remake as well I believe.

That'd be fucking amazing (Kiwami 3) and even more incentive to get a PS4 and get in to the series if they eventually intend to make most of the entire series modernised and remade.

ZhugeEX on ResetERA said that there's more Yakuza announcements coming this year so potentially at E3 and then at PSX so hopefully there's more to come.
