At very least now I don't have to read people bitching about "RELEASE YAKUZA" when I read stuff from SEGA's Facebook page. Now it will likely just be Shenmue that gets that treatment.

You're forgetting about Yakuza Ishin and Zero, which come after 5 (though Zero is the more important one as it isn't a spin-off). There are also the non-localized spin-off games Kenzan, Kurohyō: Ryū ga Gotoku Shinshō and its sequel. :v:

Still PS3-only, huh? A shame.

What else would it be on?

Steam, but then ValChron has spoiled me in that regard, since I expected to see a Yakuza game long before it.

(p.s. if there are fans of Yakuza in, we could use some help shifting this noise to their own separate pages - I don't know what these books actually are)

I know pcsx2 is a thing but I'd really love to get my hands on 1/2 HD in English - just to have the Japanese audio track for Yakuza 1. For consistency's sake, ya know? Far as I can tell there's not even an undub for it which I found surprising considering some of the weird stuff weeaboos (pardon the term but it's true) undub - I guess Yakuza's not really up their alley

REALLY excited for Yakuza 5 - I'm as disappointed as anyone that it's digital only since I have 3/4/Dead Souls sitting nicely on my shelf but I'll take what I can get.

This disappoints me, only because I just bought it on Sunday with the 10% off code and haven't even finished the 22GB download yet. Sucks that you can't get a refund on non-downloaded content.

Oh well, good news otherwise.

Why wouldn't you buy a physical copy of Yakuza 4? Its cheap enough. Like other users here I hope we get a Yakuza 1 & 2 HD re-release seeing as 2 is my favorite in the franchise. Though I heard Yakuza 5 is like huge compared to 4. So we shall see.

It's $25 USED on Amazon, versus paying $18 digital with faster load times since it's running from a hard drive. Not sure why I'd buy a disc for an inferior experience.
Sure, it's tied to my account, but I don't sell my old games anyway.

I'm 100% digital, if you live in an area with decent internet then there's no reason not to go digital these days. My 1TB HDD is nearly full on my PS3, I have almost 200 games on it. It's so liberating for me because I have very limited shelf space for games and I have a two year old kid who constantly wants to fuck around with my shit, but the biggest reason is because I always traded in all my games after I was done with them, and I'd always come to regret it later on when I'd want to replay a game. I've bought No More Heroes at least 3 times. So Yakuza 5 bein digital only doesn't bother me at all. Though I wish Yakuza 3 was available on PSN, there's really no reason why they shouldn'tve put it up with 4 and Dead Souls. It probably would've been better PR for 5 than Dead Souls.
