I uploaded a new avatar a few days ago, and it still hasn't updated outside of the User CP settings. Is this related?

Not sure. I see this one. It could possibly be a caching problem. If the one in my screenshot is wrong, tell me and I'll force a refresh for it, if it's correct on my screen and wrong on yours, it's stuck in your browser cache.
Also, make sure you uploaded an _avatar_, you might have updated the profile photo instead of the avatar and they are seperate things for some reason

I definitely uploaded it as an avatar, and that is indeed the outdated one. The one I tried to update it to looks like this:

Well, I see the old one. I'l point out that I had this exact issue when I changed my avatar to my current one. It took about a week for the old one to disappear, but I could see it fine in the User CP.

I've had this same issue before in the past, and if I remember correctly it was because I uploaded a image from my computer, rather than posting a link to a image hosted on a image hosting site. After I uploaded the avatar on Imageshack and posted the link in my UCP it worked. Though I do have a question regarding avatars, how come Gravatar is disabled here? Is it because Retro is running on an older version of IPB or is it just disabled in the ACP? I'm just curious is all. :P

Decided to update it via an external URL, and it seems to have worked. Dunno what the issue is with straight-uploading avatars, but at least there's a temporary solution.

I'm pretty confident the avatar-uploading issue is long-standing and related to overly aggressive CloudFlare cacheing.
