The new update is very interesting. So the fish was supposed to drop the sparks on water surface?

Exactly, and not only that but if I remember correctly there's also an enemy in Collision Chaos that drops sparks in a similar way (only those are quite useless since they don't spawn anything).

Yes, I've already asked if there was any communication between the STI and the Japanese Sonic CD team. :)
