I always saw Scrap Brain as sonic's description of Robotnik and his domain. Kind of like, "This is Green Hill Zone, that is Casino Night Zone, and that's.... Scrap Brain's Zone" A sort of insult and not a literal zone, seeing as Robotnik built his center of operations there and it used to be some other place.

I recall another joke awhile back, citing a "Twilight Zone" I forget the exact bits of it though... something about 4 acts, greyscaled, a narrator, gay vampire & werewolf badniks, and the narrator is the boss... something to that extent.
