But getting the lure over to him was the hard part. No matter which direction I press, it always seems to go off in some random direction. I didn't exactly spend time learning the intricacies of Big's lure, though.

No real need to "learn the intricacies." You cast it near him, tap the stick a few times, and when he bites, you clamp down the hook by pushing down and A (IIRC). After that, it's just reeling him in.

I believe at one point I was unable to beat SADX PC because I couldn't get Big to pick up the car, as he would never face the right direction with keyboard controls XD

Why didn't I emulate it/get a DC/GC?

1. I didn't want to do anything illegal plus my computer was old and didn't have much memory.
2. I'm(our whole family are) not allowed TV consoles. :<

But, back on topic, in a way, who here likes the chao feature of SA2B?

Addictive when first played, kinda slow and repetitive nowadays. I found it sometimes boring to have to replay the same stage over and over just the get the same rare animal I want.

If there was a way to be able to get animals more easily or something, I'd be more for it.

Really the worst part about Big (aside from getting all of his Emblems which can be a pain at times) was in Ice Cap. If you fished at that one hole near the start and something went under you, your line would just automatically snap. Other than that I just view it as an obstacle to get over when playing through SA1.

I object. The worst part was getting an A-Rank in Twinkle Park, since there weren't any sharks, so you had to pray the mechanical fish you got was enough, which 60% of the time, it wasn't.

Oh god what Mantis said...Twinkle Park was a nightmare. Hot Shelter was the easiest to get the A-rank and the shortest too in my opinion. Emerald Coast was easy but took more effort to get to.

Ice Cap and Hot Shelter are actually really interesting. I only wish they hid the big fish at the end of these levels because there's some mildly interesting level design going on in these levels.
But nope. Instead Froggy and the big fish are all in the initial body of water, so there's no platforming to alleviate the pain / boredom of fishing.

Back on topic too, I enjoyed the chao, but I still hate the concept of Chao stuff being a spectator game. It's too random so I can't get into the races and karate. I do enjoy raising though. I always have one chao that I cruelly abuse then pet over and over because I'm sick. :ssh:

Reminder folks.

Going to PAX to record SA2 footage? Great.

Before you leave, make sure to read "Cooljerk's awesum rules to capturing funtastic game footage" so your shakecam footage can be the best it can be. :)

Aw shit it starts tomorrow, I completely forgot-- PLEASE GET CAM FOOTAGE ASAP ! ! !

I really hope it's a steady 60 FPS. SA2:B was good, but it wasn't steady, was it?

I love and still enjoy SA1 and SA2, everything about them, everything. They never get old to me, and SA2 Battle had the best Multiplayer in the whole series next to Sonic 2.

Be sure to share that Sa2 footage with those of us who can't go, ok?

As for the up-coming re-release of SA2, I'm gonna buy it. I got SA1 just So I'd have the whole SA storyline on my PS3... I'm way looking forward to one of the last jewels of the Dreamcast finally coming out as a Downloadable... legally. That ISO used to be a pain to find. I haven't looked recently anyways. anyways, way back when I used to own this game on the Dreamcast and the GC, and I did get all 180 A rank... twice. I still hear about it from my buds :) I'm not sure to make that into some kind of nerd cred, or think that was really sad, now that I look back on it. But I think I'm gonna put myself through all that torture again and get the 180 just for the..... hmm.

I could just go play Generations if I want the retro green hill experience.... hmm. Now green hill just doesn't seem all that worth it anymore.

I wonder if they'll change the last zone so its not green hill anymore... I'd love emerald hill though.

I believe you answer in your first paragraph should be "just for the lulz" my good sir.

Also I think sometime in the future Emerald Hill is overdue for something, maybe not that but who knows.

Ken Balough confirmed at PAX that "Battle" will be a DLC add-on.

...But the game will be "Battle" either way. Even in the original Sonic Adventure, all the extra Chao stuff and graphical "enhancements" were still in the game, while the DX add-on just changed the title screen and menus and added a Mission Mode.

Cream the Rabbit made cameos still, and seeing as the code is based on Battle this time, don't expect Big to be in the game at all, even without the DLC. And like DX, the extra Chao stuff will probably also be in the game.

So basically at the very most it'll add a few new maps.
