By the way, for those too lazy for PDF files, you can play as Tails by clearing the game then holding B+Start on the title screen. He's functionally identical to Sonic, as in Sonic 2 Classic.
Yeah, I was really sad about that because it shows his silhouette flying in the manual, I tried all kinds of button combinations but they were a no-go. Maybe he's not complete yet? Some of his frames look incomplete, such as when he's on a spring. Sonic has a falling animation kinda like Sonic CD but Tails doesn't yet.

How has NOBODY talked about the credits? That looks like some kinda crazy massively multiplayer race mode! WANT.
I noticed that but I thought it was just cinematic. I hope that we do get an online play, especially for co-op. I have nobody to play Sonic games with in my area so local is out of the question. ;_;

Here's my gameplay video, showing the floating ringboxes and credits and whatnot.

Sonic Dimensions was a lot better than I expected, B+. Everything looks as bland as a photoshop-coloured flash game, but the animations and music easily make up for it. Not sure why some of the level design was changed where it never needed to be.

Oh yeah! And when I was recording the video you can see that there was an unusually pregnant pause between Act 1 and 2. Not sure if that was because of FRAPS or what.

I originally had some issues getting the game to work but once those issues were resolved, damn I was impressed. Loved the level transition, the art direction, the animation, the music, and the impressive as hell title screen. I also felt the physics were pretty good.

To the team: you may want to keep an eye on the comments here, since you'll be seeing some from people who aren't members here.

So I started up the game, and the title screen popped up, demo played, it all looked nice and pretty and all that. Then I tried playing and the screen went black and never started.
Tried it a few more times, still no luck. Any idea what's wrong?

Feels.... Odd to me. I normally don't really notice this, but the physics... are off. Like, SMB Crossover off. It feels REALLY close but... there's just something wrong.
The art is still kinda vectory+gradients for my tastes. Dunno. Animations are wonderful though.
EDIT: Also why are you still using the gamegear sonic on the title? It's still very jarring.

I love this. It looks so good in motion!
As long as it doesn't take over a decade to finish, I'm okay with however long it takes.

Amazing work guys. The art and fluidity like the rustling palm trees is beautiful. Hopefully SEGA decides to hire you guys. The obfuscation makes sense for the purpose of slowing down those wanting to remove the not for sale/unofficial notifications.

Just wanted to clarify something.
What Canned Karma said in the opening post regarding the future of Sonic 2 HD isn't exactly what we here at Retro have been told for the last few months. Right now we're just trying to get in contact to clarify the situation, and then take it from there.
Thank you for your patronage.

Dat Act Transition. The Fluidity and Sharpness of the Animations. All of the Art and Music is quite crisp, and has overly sufficient attention to detail. My goodness, I wanted to progress to CPZ so badly. This is very wonderful. It is clear that much hard work and dedication was put into this. Can't Wait For the Full Game.
Also, there did seem to be some sort of tiny lag, but I think it's on my end (I use a laptop). Yes it was my computer. Physics are incredibly close, but not perfect, which is fine. Great Job So Far, guys. *dives back into demo*
