Ah, now I get it. :P And yes, very nice indeed! I should have said that the first time around. :v:

woah, nice shading on that! I'm really digging how the spikes get a lighter shade on them when sonic turns his head; it makes it have a more three-dimensional feel.

though I really like the animation, I'm a bit worried that it might look weird going straight into it from sonic's idle position. might I suggest a frame or two transitioning from standing to walking?

Had some time so I finalized Sonic, I'm sticking with this. I think its the best hybrid of The 3 game's sprites
(Sorry jasonchrist, I mean for the style of this game, not better than yours ;D)

The change here is pretty much Sonic's spikes are from Sonic 3. It'd make more sense just to use Sonic 3's sprites completley, but I think they look liek shit.

That's fucking good man! But mine's better...

*goes back to alter his sprites*

Looks really cool. Definitely an improvement over the last version you showed off. I do miss it when this was going to be an HD project though.

Glad people like it!
Say hello to the new un-dithered tree (thank god xD)

Though it isnt finished yet, the complete tree will be more like this:

I am adopting the geometric style, more like Sonic 1 :) And yes, it'll still wiggle when you jump through it!

Also, Sonic has his normal running back:

Still cant work on it as fast as before, but still, some progress.

Edit:
New try on the spindash. Different shading on some frames. Whose idea was it to use half of Sonic's blues for the spot shine? Idiot! :argh:

Man, look at that sexy spine wiggling.

Also, here's a question of your preference: 8-directional animation on slopes and loops, or full 360° animation?

Not 360, but perhaps 16-directional instead of 8. Won't look fangame-ish but better than 8, so I'll probably do that.

I like the run except that his arm looks so far back that it looks detached.

Oh yeah, I hadn't noticed. It is the arm from the S2 beta sprite that I got the swirl from. I will change it back to normal when I can.
