I didn't know they posted it on the Sega forums too. I got emailed it from my uni.

It sounds like a grand opportunity. Kudos to anyone who can make the necessary arrangements.

Well, I just sent them an e-mail. Hopefully they'll get back to me!

Courtesy of SEGA's Facebook...

NiGHTS. Granted they don't say where this image is from, it's a safe bet that it's ASRT, no?

That image is pretty old, it's on Nights into dreams wiki since 2008...It might be a clue to nights coming to ASRT but the image itself isn't.

Not a big follower of NiGHTS, so that's news to me. Where did it come from originally then? Cause if it's not at all ASRT related, then maybe SEGA are planning to digitall re-release the NiGHTS PS3 port or something. Either way, not for this topic any more.

That is just simply official level artwork from the original NiGHTS. I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in Christmas NiGHTS.
Pretty safe bet that Stick Canyon is a stage. I hope that part of the level involves the Tower from Mare 4.

Stick Canyon? Wouldn't be my first choice for a racing course, if that's the implication. Especially with reference to this game's gimmick of transformations: Stick Canyon neither had any water in the original game nor would lend itself very easily to any being added. Why not Frozen Bell? Hilarious name that we were all too innocent to understand as children aside, that level has more character (whilst averting the grassland/forest trope that presumably has been filled already) and would make plenty of sense as somewhere that could have water added without it seeming shoehorned.
PS2
Also, actually, a big meh to that prospect. The port wasn't very good, if one analyses it properly.

As excited as I am for a NiGHTS track in ASRT, it seems odd to have two "canyon" archetype levels from different franchises in the same game the more I think about it.

That wouldn't have stopped Generations. =P
I wouldn't be surprised if NiGHTS got more representation in this game, considering they had so many requests for NiGHTS in ASR1 that they put him in the DLC.
This fucker needs moar Ristar though.

As I'm sure the Summer of Sonic people will happily be commenting on when they get back, NiGHTS and Reala were confirmed to be playable characters; there's even a NiGHTS track!

A few more details on NiGHTS and Reala as well as the track. The track features a number of locations from the game, as players teleport from area to area. In the footage, fans have spotted Spring Valley which is the first segment, followed by Mystic Forest, and then Splash Garden. The track, fittingly, is mostly flight segments, however Splash Garden is a boating segment. NiGHTS and Reala are separate racers, and NiGHTS and Reala themselves are the vehicles. NiGHTS is driven by a Nightopian and Reala is driven by a Nightmaren who appeared riding the Goodles enemy in NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams

This is old, but I don't think it's been brought up here. Awhile back Danica helped design a Hotwheels car based on her "Dream Car":

Six Wheels. Say hi to Danica's ASR car, everybody.

Wasted opportunity. She should have drove the Hornet. Instead we get... this.
ANYYYWAYYY besides that, hey look at that, NiGHTs is a boat. Interesting way to incorporate the character, but it makes sense. Figured it would make more sense for Vectorman to be a car character though. I'm glad the character roster looks much more representative of Sega's franchises and not just Sonic characters. And it has good Sega characters, none of this Bonanza Bros crap from the first one.
