Why Metal Sonic? Doesn't the rule of this being a sequel mean that he should already be part of the game's lineup? Do they not know that they took a spot from Vectorman?
Oh, and if you read the front page today, you know that Steve is teasing another transformation besides the current three. Knowing that we'll obviously get Space oriented levels, I'm calling spaceships. I'd rather hope for Robots though so that it could further give Sega no choice but to include the one character that should've been revealed from the get-go.
They haven't taken a spot from a character that has already been de-confirmed :P
Also the way they worded it is interesting. "Metal Sonic mod pack" as opposed to just "Metal Sonic character". Makes me think maybe Metal is a reskin of sorts of Sonic and his car, and maybe means that's why we have both NiGHTS and Reala too. Multiple characters per vehicle?

Sounds like it, but S0L has confirmed that Metal is his own character. Also the blogs only mention that this Bonus Edition is for North America, but S0L has said it'll be available in Europe too as far as he knows. And the blogs also say a limited edition for Europe will be announced soon.

I really don't have the funds to be pre-ordering this...But given SEGA's track record if I don't pre-order I'll never have it...
What's your example? Generations and Casino Night? It's supposed to be coming to PSN and XBL and is just a matter of when. It's been on Steam for ages and is even out in Japan. And then Ryo-F from the original ASR was originally a pre-order bonus that's available everywhere now. Chances are you'll be fine, especially since this is a game designed with DLC and online play in mind. Alternatively, the game isn't out for three months so you can place an order with Amazon who won't charge you until it ships, giving you ample time to cancel if you still can't afford it.

Not sure why S0L isn't giving any reasons as to why he's not included. Though I would assume that kind of indication would mean that negotiations have occurred at some point in regards to the character or something similar.
For that matter, Toe Jam and Earl, Ecco, Segata Sanshiro and possibly even the slew of Wonder Boy characters that nobody asked for won't make it due to these third party licenses.
The Outrun stuff is surprising though, guess they decided to abandon the realism Sega All Stars racer.
New levels revealed. From the Sonic side, we get Metal Harbor and Starlight Carnival. Very good and unique choices for Sonic stages IMO. And then there's a Samba de amigo course and some other stuff I don't recognize, with it being games I've never played and all.
Wasn't someone saying earlier in this thread there should be a level with hovercars in space? I'm definitely down for Starlight Carnival, just wish they had picked something like Chemical Plant or another Generations level instead of Seaside Hill.
