Welcome to the party, you're about two days late :P
As for music, it's good to see there's at least decent tracks mixed in with the "eh" ones this time
Spoiler
As for the level design, it's nice to see its received an overall uplift this time around, and while the improvements are still not up to par with Generations, it seems like they have been improved.
Spoiler
I was hesitant to consider picking it up, but after seeing this, I'll definately be considering purchasing it from Steam. I'm just hoping for better implementation of Tails if we ever see an Episode 3 rather than a necessary mechanic for getting through levels, which really is the most disappointing thing I've seen, save for the spring-trail happiness.

Considering Jun's love of slap bass and how easy that is to get an approximation with FM chipsets, I'm actually pretty amazed that there hasn't been at least -some- usage of it in S4E1/E2.

Sonic 4's Website got updated with info on Oil Desert Zone.
Although technically we now know everything about the damn game, so this is now useless.

So, if all the iOS devices are using the same version, could that any indication that Sonic will no longer look like this?
Freaking hideous.

I'm probably just asking for it by saying this, but... from what I've seen of Sky Fortress Zone on Youtube, this game isn't the irredeemable mess that everyone is making it out to be. Music and targeting system aside, it has its moments.
Fine it's not a classic Sonic game. Yes, it definitely is straining credulity calling it Sonic "4" - however its not a terrible homage to the trilogy. If it was called Sonic & Tails, we probably wouldn't be holding it to such a high standard. Episode 2 actually looks promising compared to other recent Dimps entries.
Can't we just accept that its an improvement over Episode 1, and not react in horror to every spoiler that gets released.

So for those who have played it / watched previews...
Is it fair to say that this is a longer/more satisfying game than Episode I? From what I've seen, the levels are longer, there's more variety in gameplay between acts, the special stages are more difficult, etc. Would I be correct in assuming that instead of this being a 45 minute to an hour long game, it's more of an hour to an hour and a half? Maybe two hours? I hope I'm not getting my hopes up.
