But if you look at it chronologically, Robotnik's ability to make space faring equipment / bases gets better every game. The original Death Egg in 2, then the repaired Death Egg in 3 (but I bet he made it better in many ways, I mean, why not?) not to mention the frigate-looking-thing and the upgraded Mech you fight in Doomsday. In Unleashed, he has progressed to build a massive fleet, and then in Colours, goes on to dominate several worlds and tether them all together. Egg Station may be rather large, but it is probably a cakewalk for him after building the collosal Death Egg in 3 along with a bunch of other space worthy things. Finding Little Planet in CD (if this takes place after / before / during 2) must have filled Robotnik with ideas, which he finally realises when he has the chance.
But I might be wrong, what with Dimps taking a dump on the series.

Thats been a mis-translation thats been floating about. Iizuka basically said that if Episode 2 doesn't sell well enough they will drop it. don't see why it shouldn't.

If they are planning an Episode III, then I'm guessing Sonic's going to return to Angel Island and Knuckles is going to be reintroduced in Episode III. Afterall, Episode I completely ignored Sonic 3 and Knuckles in terms of level theme so it would be fitting to have a zone return from there. Not saying I'm happy about it though, I'd rather have completely new level themes instead of constant rehashes.

Yeah! If they do Quartz Quadrant, they can copy-paste those trees all over again!
Jk.
But, personally, I'd like to see Collision Chaos, Quartz Quadrant, or Stardust Speedway.
...Wacky Workbench would be neat too... but not as cool as those other three.

Yeah, that was confirmed on the SEGA forums about a week or so ago. Unfortunate really.

On a serious note, it makes sense for something from Sonic CD to be remade. After-all, SEGA's marketing strategy s to link the stories of Sonic CD and Sonic 4: Episode 2 together.

Also, if we're going to race Metal Sonic he'd better be harder than he was in Generations.

Ken said that the level will only be from the original trilogy so no Sonic CD level is going to make an appearance.
