I feel too much time has passed for us to be seeing any Sonic Generations DLC. Quite disappointing, really.

DLC for Unleashed was released in March, and Sega said nothing for months. It was a surprise. I'm sure Generations will have DLC. A small thing pointing to this is the lack of the Casino Night Pinball for everyone, unlike Steam where you can buy it since January.
Besides, if they announced DLC today, or in the next weeks, it will completely steal S4E2 thunder and everyone will forget about that game. Sega is not Capcom, they made actual new content for Unleashed, even if they are only additional missions. If they make new missions for Generations it will still require time and effort.
I say June is the final cutoff date: if nothing is announced by then it's over.

"Actual new content" and "additional missions" don't belong in the same sentence.

Several Unleashed DLC stages were new areas. Others used previously unused areas in the main game (Arid Sands Night Act 2, Jungle Joyride Night 3(?)), and then there are the Hard Mode missions which use the base levels but with new obstacles or, in Jungle Joyride's case, change entire sections of the level. Some of these are not on the disc, hence the ridiculous size of all these DLC packs (which also included nicer textures!)
Unlike Sonic 2006, where the DLC stages amounted to Hard Modes almost exclusively, one (poorly assembled) team mission, and a glorified boss rush which quietly sneaked in hard modes (read: they moved faster) of every boss in the game that wasn't named Solaris. All of which are on the disc and in the U.S. PS3 version, cannot be accessed as Sega never released the "keys" to unlock Amigo and Boss Attack.
If anything, Sega's DLC plan from Unleashed is the ACCEPTABLE form of how DLC shouldbe handled.
"Are you enjoying your pie, sir?"
"Yes, very much so!"
"Would you like some ice cream with it?"
"Sure!"
As opposed to:
"Here is your pie. If you would like the rest of it, it will cost you more."
"Wait..."

I think Sega is waiting for more copies to be sold before DLC, although the game was recieved well by the fans and critics (for the most part), judging by VGChartz (not official sales figures but pretty close) it has not sold too amazing yet. Considering three years of development and all the promotion that went on for this (having it featured in six flags parks, Sonic Boom, commercials) I am not sure if they have made any money off it yet. For other Sonic titles there has been a decent trend of sales even a year or two after the game comes out. I would've loved to buy the collector's edition here (America) and give Sega more more hard earned cash for this game because it means alot to me, but was denied the choice to do so.
Anyways, here's hoping DLC comes out at some point and that it is a new zone. I know I'll end up getting Sonic 4:E2 but just one DLC zone for generations will make me more excited than that whole game.

By the way, I have a coupon code in my Generations CE for Casino Night. Obviously being in the U.S. means it's worthless to me, so which one of you Euro peeps would like this code?
No catch. I just want to give it to someone.

A month or two back I bought the DLC pack for Spagonia, and personally I was pretty dissapointed with it. If I recall properly, there was only 1 new stage and all the other ones were just harder versions of older stages that I easily managed to beat within a few minutes. Not saying it was a complete waste of money, but I guess I just expected more(What was I thinking!?). Anyways, I pray that they come out with a DLC pack for generations, hopefully for the genesis stages and Spagonia, them being my favorite.

The CE code for Casino Night worked for me on my US game. I'm talking 360 here, though.

And if it's on the PS3, just make a European account in a separate profile, redeem it, and you use it on your usual profile, but you can't delete the euro profile from the ps3 however.
(It might not even be necessary to create a new account, but you never know...)

Right, but I already used my code from the U.S. version, so I don't need the code at all.

I've actually been meaning to sell the copy of Generations in my CE... as it will never be played anyway, but that can be discussed another time.
Don't be afraid to fire PMs my way if there's any interest. And no, this does not include the special fancy cover. That stays here.

Fair enough. But it's worth mentioning that most of the assets for that "completely new stage" were already made. It wasn't "new" content, it was old content rearranged enough to feel new. There's nothing wrong with that at all, but it's still not "new".
Oh, I understand and agree completely. I would like to add one of the reasons I had no problem with this in Unleashed was the price for the DLC packs, very fair imho, but I'm not denying they were just new missions, or that the assets were all reused. But yet, it still feels like new content to me, because the missions themselves felt new, or used unused areas (or completely new level design).
At least, they were not unlock codes like 2006. Now those were total bullshit.
