Anybody had any problems starting the game up relating to a Config tool? A friend of mine is having such problems with the PC version.

People with Optimus Technology (like me) won't be able to boot the game at all with the more powerful GPU because the config tool doesn't detect it.

Just stumbled across this video, holy shit

The endless boost skill lends itself very well to this stage, lol. Also, I had NO IDEA about that shortcut with the cannon near the beginning. Damn this stage is nuts.

So hey, I got the PC version because U.S.-like fiscal responsibility.

I love the part where I boot up Green Hill 1 at a lovely 60FPS and about 75% into the stage, it looks like a TAS run. Not hating on the game itself as it no doubt runs well, but it's a shame this little computer can't handle it too well. But that's what I get for trying to play higher end stuff on a LAPTOP. That said, I more than meet the minimum across the board, but it's been becoming a problem lately with every game that after a while, my system starts to chug. It used to run pretty damn fine before. Bad GPU? It's an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570.

Would be nice if they added in an option for a windowed mode. Not that I don't like fullscreen all the time (looks quite gorgeous on here when it works), but I like being able to multitask, so I have the game open, IRC, Trillian, WinAMP, Firefox (either on here, Twitter, Facebook, or any combo of the three), and Word 2007.

Yes, I am insane.

I've seen a few people mention this on other forums. Seems like the game's having trouble on certain cards.

Yeah, lots of people are reporting frequent game crashing. They released a patch earlier today that I assume fixes something dire.

So, I entered the contest, did anyone else? Barely managed it at 1:49.65. :P

Man oh man, this game is indeed awesome. Modern Sonic is much more perfected than he was in Colors and the level design for Classic Sonic rivals Donkey Kong Country: Returns for me. I'm lovin' it!

My favourite level for Classic Sonic is Speed Highway and my favourite level for Modern Sonic is Rooftop Run... I mean, wow. I loved Rooftop Run in Unleashed but its vastly improved in this game, even if 50% of it shares similar layouts. And Speed Highway is insane; I swear I haven't explored the whole level yet in my 10+ playthroughs of it!

And the music is definitely awesome... I'd consider it one of the greatest OSTs in video game history.

And the boss battles... I NEVER considered boss battles anything special in Sonic games... more often then not, I consider them a chore. But this game's boss battles are so well designed... they're so fun! I especially love Perfect Chaos' and Metal Sonic's fights. They're just great!

Spoiler

Anyway, all in all it's an amazing game... but I do not think it beats out Colors for me. Sonic 1? Yes. Sonic 2? Yes. Sonic 3 & Knuckles? No. Not even Sonic Colors is better than that game for me... S3&K I'd consider to be perfect platforming at its absolute finest. But yes, Sonic Colors... I like Colors a tiny bit more because Colors was not only an original game but the amount of style and atmosphere it had... even though its only a year old, it fills me with tons of nostalgia. And the music... I do not dislike a single song in that game. The music is absolutely phenomenal in that game. It seriously affects me emotionally listening to the music in Sonic Colors.

But yeah. Sonic Generations is an amazing game. I honestly cannot wait to see what Sonic Team has in store next year for Sonic!

Alright, being brief once again, I do have some good things to say about Generations. Classic Sonic is more fun than Modern (obviously, though Classic has some flaws), and the level designs of the Classic levels are much better - I love how in City Escape that goddamn truck is constantly hounding you throughout the level. There's a lot of neat level design details.

I also grinned like a goddamn maniac when Blaze's Crisis City mission used a remix of the Saturn version of Sonic 3D Blast. I love that song, and in a mission featuring my favourite Sonic character? FUCK. YES.

Modern has some neat bits in its level design that would work rather well if Modern Sonic didn't handle like a cow at low speeds.

Basically, my main beef is with the core gameplay, which pretty much drags the rest of the game down. Which is really sad, because I really could've loved this game if it had (what I think is, anyway) a more fun gameplay style for Modern Sonic. :(

I personally thought Modern Sonic was a better experience.

The higher and stable frame rate on the PC version really help sort out a lot of control issues.

I thought so too, then I played Sky Sanctuary Zone and fell down the holes 12 times, and then the floor decided to not appear and I was walk'n on sunshine.

My favourite feature so far is the slowly deteriorating frame rate. I like how it starts off fine, then after two hours it becomes a slide slow. Interesting trick that CPU Eater has.

Ripped fresh from the full game..... Get em while they are hot! I'm really liking R8 reference boss from sonic CD..
Now why would that be in there even if its not in the final game ? could some of these reference arts be clues to future download content?

So, I meet the requirements but cutscenes lag so bad. The sound has finished playing while they're still acting... It's ruining it for me, but other than that, the game has been rather enjoyable so far...

Except this, which happened on my first play through of this level;
