I thought they said 14 December, aka 'same day as XBLA'?
Having said that though, it looks like it's
available to Kiwis already .

It's too bad that level wasn't completed. It looks awesome. Also, a patch for the game would be appreciated. >_> I'd like to replay the game with both physics for replay value sake with the original physics being accurate.

SEGA blogs had the date as the 15th. Hm, not sure what it is then.

Looking at Wikipedia again, it now says the 15th. It said 14th only yesterday. Guess it's an "Apple approval" delay or something like that?
EDIT: Bloody hell, apparently the Android version is out today and not being delayed till the new year.

As much as I'd like to see Desert Dazzle become reality, it's probably for the best it's not done in Sonic CD. It'd be nice to see it launched in an all new endeavor using the Retro Engine, but that's ultimately up to Sonic Team and related parties.
Too bad. I'm a big proponent of getting a western desert trope started in 2D Sonic. It's always been Egyptian ruins instead of cactai, tumbleweeds and plateaus.
Any details that you're at liberty to give on Final Fever or did that not even leave the drawing board?

Sonic Team not wanting to deviate the games from their source material? That is kind of hilarious.

better yet, why not pull in the 2 levels cut from this remake, the lost levels from Sonic 2, and make a Sonic Lost Zones game?

Nah there should have been an extended mode in this remake. Maybe that speedcap fix could go with these extras in a future DLC.

Taxman! I fixed the opening song for you. I heard you can't use the original lyrics because Sega doesn't own them, so I remixed the song using my advanced musical knowledge. Please give Honk Honk Sonic Viking a chance, it's a bit rough but we can work together to get it ready for a day 1 patch like Activision!

So assuming Desert Dazzle and Final Fever were in the game, would they have had time zones as well? And were they far enough along to have music?

Okay those two zones seriously need to be DLC at some point for an extended mode or something. This is what DLC should be used for, finishing content that wasn't ready by release! It's 2011, we have the technology!

I'm willing to cough up extra money for Desert Dazzle & Final Fever. For everything I get this on, at that.
That is, whenever I get this hunka burnin' game. Just have to play the waiting game for the iOS and Steam.
