What is this "Time Eater" I keep hearing about?

I haven't paid attention to the Sonic franchise much since Sonic Heroes came out (don't ask me why I'm here, I don't know), so I'm probably missing something very obvious here. I keep seeing mention of a "time eater" when discussions about Sonic arise between friends and other communities I visit, but I have no idea what they're referring to.

A quick glance around the wiki isn't showing anything, so I may not even have the right franchise. But I figured I'd ask anyways.

It's the "monster of the week" in Sonic Generations. Not much else is knowsn about it.

The Time Eater is to be main antagonist and final boss for Sonic Generations.

I really hope Time Eater is an Eggman creation not unlike the Nega-Wisp Armor from Sonic Colors. Perhaps this creation went rogue as it was with Neo Metal Sonic and decided to mess with time on its own accord. I'd rather it be that than another mindless monster thing.

Well, 'eater' gives you a very clear image of what it wil be- it'll be magic, or have a big mouth or something, and it will be huge, and probably floats. Betting that Dr Robotnik unleashed it after reading up on it from some manuscripts, and it ends up needing both Sonic's to turn Super to kick it's ass.

I'm just disappoint that Eggman is going to look like a tool, again.

Shit needs to stop, it's getting really, really old.

The only way I'd be okay with it is if there's a Final Boss gauntlet at the end where you fight ever major final boss from the series in a row. That would make up for it, but only if they do that. colbert.png
