I grew up on these comics and loved them, but it seems there's still a relatively large amount of Sonic fans out there that still doesn't know a whole lot about these comics. I decided to do a retrospective on the comics to give everyone an overview of the major story arcs and hopefully some people will like the look of them enough to hop on eBay and check them out.

Below is the YouTube video, here is a Blip link as well, in case you want it in higher quality.

It's a series that would benefit if it was hosted in its entirity online.

As in, on a reliable website all at once, rather than one comic per week or whatever.

I mean it's not likely the comic will ever be reprinted any time soon.

I've still got my original issues, but for this video I used scans from a torrent I downloaded way back from STC Archives. The torrent was poorly seeded back then, and nowadays I don't know if STC Archive is even up anymore.

Not bad, not bad at all.

But turn down the music at the end. It makes it hard to hear you.

True.

But none of them are complete with ads and everything and the reprint issues aren't there in full.

There are times where I wish that as a kid I could have had access to Sonic the Comic in the US. Everything about it seems superior to the US version. I knew everything there was to know about the SEGA US Sonic lore but I knew nothing of the canon origins back in the Genesis days and used to be curious, this would have helped.

Never heard much of Sonic the Comic, all I know is apparently their abilities can be zapped, leaving them with brown fur (from sprites I've seen, don't lynch me if that's not true) and Super Sonic is the last thing you want to unleash, instead of the first like the games.

I still have all my US Archie Sonic comics and in mint/very good condition. I have the original four that was the Mini-Series. Then the regular series issue #1 up to about #55-60. Also, most all the specials.

If anyone needs scans I'd be more than happy to help you out. Just shoot me a PM with Issue number and I'll see if I have it. definitely will have to check out Sonic the Comic.

Sonic the Comic was great and I just as pretty much loved all the stories that they did in there especially Shinobi and Golden Axe. Looking back now I can't believe I threw them all away but I was getting older and just started my apprenticeship so I just saw them as my past youth.

One thing's for sure: I find Sonic more entertaining as a mildly irritable little douche than an altogether hip goofball. I also like the art style, although I don't have much of a problem with Archie's.

My collection.

I've been wanting to make an iPad adaptation of this comic for ages, I have the means, but I don't have the permission.

I tried sending an email to Nigel Kitching but got no reply.

Sega never respond either.
