Ah! That's helpful to know, then. ^^ I'll see if I can put one together, then, so that this thread doesn't get too cluttered with my stuff.

Ohhh yes, the music. Anyone here know Woofle from Furaffinity? I loved her work on Sonic 1 Megamix (especially Starry Night Zone), so I asked her if we could collaborate on this game's soundtrack. Sooo, I'm composing the base melody for each song while Woofle remasters it. Also, I doubt most people here know BlueWarrior from the VGMusic forums, but he's been pitching in with some of the songs as well.

Also, thanks Shade and Jay for the feedback!

I am also very interested in this. Contrary to some, I do like that is similar to Sonic, yet far away enough from it to not be boringly the same. Kind of like they share the same universe or something. The game play sufficiently sets itself apart from any other Sonic Worlds fangame, in my mind.

EDIT: To me it seems like an IP made by Sonic Team mid-nineties.

Yeah. I get a big Ristar vibe from it.

I also really like the fact that it's Sonic-but-not-quite, the kind of spin-off that Chaotix should have been. I can imagine an episode of the Sonic cartoon where they blast into space and meet cool characters from an alien planet like this.

I was thinking it happened on Sonic's planet, but at a different time.

Strife, is there any backstory to this?

There's a bit of backstory, but I'm probably going to leave it ambiguous as to whether it's Mobius thousands of years into the future or a different planet entirely. It might be fun to throw in hints that support both possibilities (such as vaguely familiar landmarks, or the villain talking about previous worlds he's conquered).

It reminds me of a cross between Sonic and Rocket Knight Adventures, which happen to be 2 of the most enjoyable games I own on the MD / Genesis. Looking forward to seeing more of this.

Sonic Zero: Remastered is proud to introduce a new character to the gameplay, a fan favorite and a welcome addition the team is sure everyone will love. He will have very unique gameplay, unseen before in any Sonic fan game!

Gotcha. Hints and clues are always lots of fun in videogames, in my opinion! Especially hidden ones tgat players have to find!

I'm currently in the very early stages in developing a 2.5D Sonic Colors type game in Unity called 'Sonic Gear'. Sonic will use gadgets in the vein of wisps but with a surprise twist! :ssh:

Edit: Could this please be moved to the fangame screen thread?

That Sonic bears a strong resemblance to his Werehog form in Sonic Unleashed. At least from the looks of it.

Here are some new screens of Sonic Gear. I'll post a demonstration video soon. The rolling isn't great but it's better than Sonic 4 Episode 1 at least xD After the first video I won't post anything else until I implement the gadgets. The gadgets won't be direct copies of the Wisps, I want to make a new Sonic experience. (Note: To PolygonJim and Damizean, ignore my model PM's I've fixed the issue).

Haha blame that on a bad FBX export xD

I've posted new screens with a fixed model in the fangame screenshots thread if anyone's interested. =D

Just dropping this here; to tell the truth, this is a "enhancement" or "de-enhancement" of Metal Harbour from SA2 really because I did some work on a HUD based on it, you can see the "PERFECT!" in my sig, and thought hmmm... could see if they look like in a small game. Probably just become a one stage demo... but who knows?

The background has a 3D effect on it - scrolling forward, ect.

The graphics are gorgeous. You always hit a home run with Advance Style. The only downside is the tiny screen resolution.

Yeah, why have the screen resolution so small? I would love to play the Advance games with a height resolution of 240 pixels. Also, nice work.

The dinky GBA resolution never really bothered me since all of the sprites are scaled down to match... but I suppose it depends on how you design the levels. You can get away with a small resolution if you have a heavy focus on platforming, but if you have a lot of high-speed sections that require split-second timing to avoid hazards and such, then it'd make sense to increase the resolution or make the game widescreen.

In any case, loving the Advance-style Metal Harbor. ^_^
