Middle. The color scheme makes perfect sense as it is, but I'd punch up the greens of the trees just a tad for a touch of appeal. Looks pretty cool, by the way.
I'm torn between the middle and the bottom, make the bottom BG one a little more orange, or the middle BG one a little more yellow. On a side note, I love what you've got there, a construction site at an evening with orange/purple coloured clouds works wonders, also, would this happen to be what you needed the LBZ art for? Ahh the memories =P
That's because of a system I wrote to export time trial replays to AVI files. For some reason, moving platforms fall out of sync. It's nothing anybody playing the game will have to worry about, and exclusively effects time trial replays only. I'd certainly like to find out why it happens, and fix it, but it's not a high priority at all.
Its for a Collision Chaos style level so that's a good thing. Ah yes not my finest hour... I have a folder on my hard drive with roughly 2500 rips and what not from sonic and other genesis games that I've either ripped myself or got from the internet. I comes in handy when making graphics. I was missing LBZ until you helped out. Since then I've used graphics from it in a few things I've been working on. Anyway I just wasn't happy with the background above. So I made another attempt. That I think will be the past version of the level. It compliments the future version of the level better I think.
Thanks everyone. I understand. But I really think this come compliments its future alternative here better. Future:
I think that the foreground really has to have a different palette. For a second there I couldn't tell that it was supposed to go along with the background. Maybe something more blueish-purple like the background?
Maybe a bit more detailed? And oh, heres a slight idea, the beard being spot lights that rotate about... Uploaded with ImageShack.us
I love the added shading on him/it. But I'm not to keen on the new face. I've completed the shading job which is a definite improvement.
Looks nice, rather authentic to Unleashed's Eggmanland concept. Only suggestion is too add more detail to the water and brick wall area, maybe darker shades so the foreground stands out better. The brick wall also looks a bit oddly placed in the industrial setup. Also maybe add a different color scheme to the foreground platforms for the past area like you did the future one.
Thanks for the reply but I gotta disagree. First its not an industrial theme, its just a city a big city and the eggman pyramid idea came from all those interesting looking buildings in Los Vegas, I haven't seen the pyramid in Sonic Unleashed. As far as the brick goes, brick or cement blocks often times line the rivers on city waterfronts including Davenport Iowa where I used to live.
BLARG I'm revamping the Chemical Plant Zone background for a game project of mine, and I have become stumped. I have no idea how to go about making the water actually look like water. Any ideas?
Shrink it to half size, shift every other row in alternate directions by one pixel, and add a blueish tint. I see you've already done the first of these three. EDIT: Now with added example! EDIT DX DIRECTOR'S CUT: If you shift alternate rows by more, you'll get a more pronounced water effect; I'm not sure how subtle you want it, though.
