Okay as asked, here is Mighty In Sonic 1:

Downloads:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/9ybihy

Movelist:

* Spin Dash: Hold down and jump when standing still to rev up, let go of down to thrust forward.
* Wall Jump: Hold forward and jump next to wall to cling onto it, let go of either to spring off.
* Wall Smash: Mighty can automatically destroy walls by walking into them.

Due to his simplicity in both sprites and moves, the majority of his stuff was made quicker than usual so this is more or less finished. There are perhaps a few rough edges I might refine however.

This version is modified from the Knuckles Chaotix sprites. Here is a link to the alternate revision using Aquaslash and Cinossu's Sonic 1-refined sprite sheet:

Nice to have a proper mighty in sonic 1 hack. It feels mostly the same as the wall jump in sonic 1 hack but still nice that the sprites were changed to mighty. I look forward to you adding the wall gripping moves and wall smashing moves in your other character hacks.

I was just kidding Feli. v.png

What's to feel bad about? I think your character hacks are awesome. I didn't claim this concept as my own. If anything that title is given to Stealth and Puto (if not Sonic Team themselves due to the Knuckles in Sonic 2 add on). If anything I'd like more to get in on the craze, especially since many others have far more programming knowledge and resources than me. It gives me less characters to work on at the end of it all anyway. lol

This hack makes me so nostalgic, because my very first Sonic hack was Mighty in Sonic 1 - This in 2000! With The older Tile Layer, that didn't had support to Mega Drive, then we needed to convert the tiles for Master System format. XD.

The big difference now is seeing it be done right! Great job! =D

Very good E-122-Psi. Mighty fits quite nicely into Sonic 1 with minor colour edits. Do you think you will be able to get around sorting those ones out with some palette trickery?

Oh and by the way your custom version of Mighty on the title screen is amazing. Out of all the ones I've seen this one looks like official art.

You know, this is cool and all, but I can only play Green Hill Zone so many fucking times it gets boring even with a new character. It doesn't help that this is Mighty; someone who even isn't radically different from Sonic. I mean, give the credit for the art and what have you, but I'd just rather have something fresh. I'm quite frankly sick of all these X in Y hacks cropping up recently.

That said, I wouldn't mind to see a new hack based with these characters. Vector and Mighty especially have some neat moves that could be used in a platform based hack.

I'm quite frankly sick of all these X in Y hacks cropping up recently.

While I agree that it is getting old, I recall that these are "Proof Of Concept" hacks and the idea is to push the limit more and more, just to see how far and how versatile the original title can be with other characters that weren't made for it initially. By changing anything else, it doesn't really become a "Proof Of Concept" strictly speaking, at least not a mild one.

Having new hacks with new characters at quite a frequent rate keeps most of us entertained, while the more solid and notable hacks are still being worked on and don't see the light of day for weeks, months or years. So it's a plus side if you will =P
