So I purchased a Retrolink NES2 controller, brand new, from a local Gamestop that sells some retro stuff. I'm not very sure if it's bad quality, a manufacturing problem, or just wrong with my controller, but the D-Pad is completely busted. If say, for example, I want to hold down up, right? Instead, I'm given a choice between holding up+left or up+right, simply by tilting the up button in that direction. The same thing happens on the down button, and the left and right buttons. It irritates me in many games, and in most top-down games like Zelda, it makes them damn near impossible. I have no idea why the D-pad would act like this. Is it a problem? Should I quickly make a refund? Can it be fixed?

Refund it. And don't buy a knock-off.

Damn, I want your Gamestops. All mine are the same damn "if it came out before PS2 we don't want anything to do with it" bullshit, and I'm sure it won't be long until they're purely seventh-generation (360/PS3/Wii).

I've actually heard that this one retro gaming store that was recently bought out by GameStop decided to put all the stuff they couldn't sell into a trash compactor. I swear the resale value of these things is being artificially inflated by bullshit like that.

Thanks. It's the first knock-off product I've ever bought, and more than likely will be the only.

It's just it was the only NES2 controller there, and those things are damn comfy. But I guess you can't beat ol' grey.

Also Shadow Hog, the GameStop up here isn't exactly a GameStop, per se. The back of the store is one big pawn shop for all of the older stuff before the PS2 was released, and the front is pretty much a regular GS. I do like GameStop's service, though, it's their "pre-PS2" policy that bugs me. Thank god for local store-mergers :D
