Noooooooooooope. They're still going with the comic continuities. Proof?

Tempo/Quake Woman can be seen right between Rock's legs. She's the only comic-only character to appear in this artwork, interestingly enough.

Huh, well I'll be. I don't know much about how the Megaman comics are, but have many characters been introduced yet? It's only on like issue 20 right? Might just be they couldn't think of enough characters to put on that made sense.

I don't follow the comics much myself, but so far they're up to around Mega Man 2 or 3, I think. Probably the former, though with some aspects from the latter, like Proto Man. Tempo is the only original robot master I'm aware of.

And Bass is on the cover, and they're nowhere near 7, so anything can happen between now and when the crossover begins. Granted, not being up to 7 didn't stop Hitoshi Ariga from having Bass turn up before doing the events of Mega Man 7 in his own Mega Man manga series.

The folks at Loading Ready Run commented on the crossover on their weekly news show.

Well that was entirely pointless. Fishing for Sonic fan hate without even saying much.

They are currently between megaman 2 and 3. essentially, the current arch is the setup story of Megaman 3

As much as I'm hyped up about the crossover as the rest of you guys, I just wanted to remind you all that there's about 10 days left until this monstrosity hits the shelves:

Spoiler

I'm confused, why are these next 3 issues boring stock art painting covers.

Because this guy did the covers:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Horn

And since Archie bends over backwards for famous comic book artists from other companys, we get this.

So the cover might be rather lackluster, but it is the issue where Team Metal is supposed to finally make their full-fledged appearance. Can't wait to see what Metal Tails and Metal Knuckles bring to "the table" since we already have a good idea what Mecha Sally can do, as well as Metal Sonic. Speaking of which, anyone want to bet how many issues this Metal Sonic will last?

The #242 solicit has been tweaked.

Quote

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG #242
“Olympic Trials”: It's a special event issue in honor of the Summer 2012 Olympic games! Sonic and his friends are preparing for the ultimate contest of sportsmanship, but Dr. Eggman plots from the shadows to take more than the gold! All this plus an exciting bonus story featuring Sonic the Hedgehog and Team Fighters!
script: Ian Flynn
Art: Jamal Peppers, Steven Butler, Terry Austin, John Workman and Matt Herms
Cover: Yardley!, Austin and Herms
On Sale at Comic Specialty Shops: 10/31
32-page, full color comic
$2.99 US.

So, the Knuckles story has been replaced with a Team Fighters story. The Knuckles story's probably just moved to a later issue, but it's worth noting.

^ Well ain't that unfortunate. Would love to see more of Knuckles.

Also, are these Olympics the Mobolympics? AoSTH tie in GO

Ian Flynn said:

No, the back-up is still a tie-in/prelude to the Knuckles arc. It just features Team Fighters prominently.

Welp, false alarm.

EDIT: Also, preview pages are up for #239 in a really weird format on the Archie site:

The place that shall not be named or acronymed has previews of #239 and #42 up, I think they were scanned by them because they don't like the normal press 5-page previews.

Anyways here is something really awesome. This was shown at comic-con recently:

Metal Amy is coming. but does anyone know where Ian got his inspiration for this piece? I'll give you a minute to think back...

Give up?

Looks like Ian is really more involved with our fanbase because only a few people left remember this page:
http://www.teamartai...mics/aoi-strip/

If you can't remember, Years and years ago a Sonic gag comic strip was made by a user named "Aoi". originally, they were in Japanese but they were translated by Team Artail.

This is the comic in question:

thats pretty cool for Ian to know such an obscure thing.
