This Song Sounds Like Spring Yard Zone. Seriously though, it's incredibly similar.

Hey! It does! Some one should do a mashup. That would be awesome.

Slowpoke.jpg, I'm sure. It's possibly been noted before but I don't feel like reading 20+ pages to verify.

the beginning of Believe in Myself

and

Bridge Zone

are the same.

Is anyone really familiar with Yakuza 4's music? One of the Chase sections in Tanimura's story has a song that pretty much straight-up reuses the saxophone solo from Skyscraper Scamper Day, but I can't find it on YouTube to show the comparison. I found an account that (seemingly) has all of the music uploaded, but my internet connection is far too slow now to go looking through all of them. I know it's SEGA and a couple of Sonic Team's regulars likely contributed to the OST as a whole, but I searched "Yakuza" in this thread and nobody had pointed it out so I figured I would.

(As a side note, I laughed harder than I should have when in Akiyama's story, he tells a girl to smile, in his club which happens to be called Elise. :v: )

I think the one you're looking for is called Fang Marked Viper. The only Sonic Team sound member credited outright for Y4 is Tokoi, and he composed this Terminal Velocity-esque piece (it was Kumatani who did Skyscraper Scamper, though). As for the sax, it's not that it's the same person playing or that it was sampled; tenor saxes are just plain typecast.

On a side note (and for those interested), for Tokoi's other tracks:
-Sadness resembles "Planet Wisp - Act 1"
-Glee resembles "Event: Reflection"
-Theme of Saigoh resembles "Asteroid Coaster - Act 1"
-Theme of Sennin resembles "Planet Wisp - Act 2"
-Theme of Naile resembles "Cyber Track - Act 1"

There is a slight similarity between that song's melody and Labyrinths bassline.

@E102: I swear it sounded more like the last bit in Skyscraper Scamper when I was playing it, but maybe I was just frustrated at the game, lol. But thanks dude. :p

"Geigeki" from the Highschool of the Dead OST has a riff that sounds exactly like one in Glyphic Canyon

The background riff @41 secs

@41 secs. Kinda funny that they happen at the same time and they're used in almost exactly the same way, huh?

Holy SHIT! You can't get anymore blatant rip off than this. Either someone from the band(s) was involved with both songs or it's time for a lawsuit.

From a composer stand point that makes sense. That first song was deserving of a better game...too bad it got trapped there :(

People borrow in music all the time, it's nothing to lawyer up about. Besides, it's more probable that both songs are just using a premade sample.

Actually, it sounds like what Spring Yard would be if it was in Sonic CD. :o

Sonic borrowing from The Beatles... imokaywiththis.jpg

Provided it was intentional, of course...

Did I mention how using samples....especially melodic ones is pure blasphemy? If you like how something sounds, mimic it using your own style in the very least. Sure, it takes more time, but it's always worth it.
